[Meh...finals are over. Finally. ><]

Amaya followed her companion, a few feet behind him. She watched him shovel in different kinds of foods and spices, mesmerized by his magical ability to give her cookies. He was a holy man now, a god.

Did he have...a kekke genkai that involved cookies? 'Cos...whenever he had one, he was giving it to her. This made her frown a small frown, unable to smile. He was a god for this cookie ability of his.

She loved sweets and he seemed to always be giving her some. Cookies, cookies, cookies. Candy. Spicy food.

And for the first time, in a long time, that small frown slowly turned upside down, the corners of her mouth tilting upward. But, even if you looked at her, you wouldn't be able to tell she was smiling.

She lifted her free hand to her mouth, confused, so obviously confused. Her fingers touched her lips, tracing their upward turn. A...a smile? Her stomach churned as she thought this over.

Was she capable of this - happiness, smiling, hopefulness?

Her smile immediately turned into a frown before anyone could see her smile. She was so confused. First, she's irritated by the fact all she can do is frown, second, she smiles, and third, she quickly finds salvation in the frown she was frustrated with.

Why?

She didn't understand and she could usually understand anything you throw at her. But, she supposed, when it came to emotions and facial expressions, she didn't really understand as much as she thought. Maybe being locked up for all those years without a single friend made her lose that understanding. Maybe, maybe.

She continued on behind Rage, spotting a grinning teen with messy brown hair and a bandaged left eye. He was clad in a dark blue summer yukata, a black obi circling his waist under the over coat and his hands tucked into his sleeves. He seemed to be leaning over a counter and joking with someone.

This boy peaked her interest, mostly because of his happy demeanor and bandaged eye.

Yuki frowned at Vell's inconsideration, flinching at his loud yelling. Her heart sped up and her tears fell more, her hands clawing at the white blanket.

If he wasn't okay, she would be so... sad.

"Oi, shut up! Quit yellin', you'll get us all kicked out," barked a cocky voice, small limp footsteps following.

Her head whipped around to face the door, her heart beating fast. Kiba?

Kakashi smiled through his mask, his arms crossing his chest. "Told you so," he said quietly.

"I mean, do you WANT us to get kicked out, Mr. Uh...dude?"

Yep. Kiba.

Yuki just looked up at Kakashi, her eyes pouring. He really was alive! "You weren't lying..." she ground out, sniffling. "You really were telling the truth."

She bowed her head and covered her face.

Gracie

[Kekkei genkai for cookies. Ohmygod. Amaya I love you. XDDDD]

Rage was slightly surprised to see someone else now in the small grocery store. The teen was smiling and talking animatedly with a customer. The bandage over his left eye made Rage think immediately of Vell - until he saw that big grin.

Vell? Really? The silver haired teen had probably never smiled before in his life.

[In fact, he has, but that was long, long ago... *gazes into distance with a pipe*]

Looking at the other counter Rage found that the middle-aged man had two customers behind the one he served now. It was only logical to take the shorter line. The black haired teen took his place in line and waited for the first customer to be done, sensing Amaya right behind him.

Vell had only been yelling for thirty seconds when a growly voice barked from his left. "Oi, shut up! Quit yellin', you'll get us all kicked out."

The battered boy from before was limping his way down the hall, giving Vell a less-than-friendly scowl. Besides being bandaged and having that painful-looking limp, he looked fine. Kiba's frown got deeper as he got closer and didn't recognize Vell. "I mean, do you WANT us to kicked out, Mr. Uh... dude?" he finished awkwardly.

Vell narrowed his eye at Kiba. Ugh. How he disliked dogs. "Not my fault your wussy ass couldn't get here soon enough. She bawling her eyes out in there," he gruffed with a flick of his feline black ear.
