After the party Kiba took Ruma to her house.
"Kiba I hate to do this to you, but can I stay with you for the night. My mother and I haven't really been getting along lately," Ruma looked at her house frowning.
"Sure I dont mind," Kiba took her hand and kissed her forehead, "anything for you."
They walked off towards Kiba's home.
Shikamaru and Kanai were walking towards Sakura's when Kanai stopped.
Shika continued on a step or two ahead but then stopped as well, "Whats wrong?"
"Dont move," Kanai threw him his weapon pouch and took out a kunai, "Get ready."
He didn't have time to question her. Four ninja, three men and a woman, jumped down from the rooftops.
They weren't Leaf shinobi. They weren't wearing headbands at all.
"Give us the girl and we'll leave peacefully," the woman stepped from the back and spoke first.
"Like hell I'd give her to you. I don't even know you," Shikamaru shouted back.
"Very well I guess we'll have to do this the hard way. Boys get the girl but don't kill her and as for the boy make sure he's dead. No one can know we were here," she ordered and one man lunged at Shikamaru and the other two at Kanai.
Kanai already had Chidori ready and instintly struck one of the men through the stomach and pumped chakra into her arm creating a hole in him.
The second took her by surprise and swept her legs from underneath her. With the first dead she wasnt worried. Until the second charged at her with a kunai. She dodged but he changed course and slashed at her upper left arm, putting a gash in her arm. She turned to face him growling.
"Do you know how long that will take to heal?!," she screamed at him stomping her foot.
Then she heard the faint noise of Shikamaru grunting in pain.
She looked in his direction to see the woman had came up behind him and put a kunai straight into his heart. Kanai's eyes widened and chakra began to be visible surrounding her body.
She looked at her remaining foe and stared at him, "Drown in your crimes," she said a few times and then a few seconds later the man was coughing like he couldn't breath. Like he was drowning. Once he fell over dead, Kanai looked at the other two who fled leaving the village by climbing over the wall with the tree climbing technique. As soon as they left her chakra settled and was no longer visible to the dying Nara.
"Shikamaru are you okay?,"
Kanai ran over to her boyfriend.
"I've seen better days," he chuckled.
"I can help you but it will hurt a little okay?," Kanai looked at the hole in his back as he sat there.
He nodded his head and she put chakra onto her hands and began healing him.
She was more developed in the techniques than Sakura and could mend organs with little pain to the patient. After she finished mending the hole in his heart she began closing the wound on his back. It took a while but she was trying to give the least amount of pain to him as possible.
Once she finished she helped him stand, "Now 'I' need to take 'you' home," she teased.
"Thanks Kanai," he walked slow with her supporting him,
"I didnt know you could could perform medical ninjutsu."
"Huh," she smiled, "and here I thought you were smart," she gave him a peck on the cheek.
When Naruto left he offered to walk Hinata home and she took the offer.
"That was a lot of fun having everybody together like that," Naruto put his hands on the back of his head.
"Yeah it's been a while," she smiled at him,
'But i just wish Sasuke was here for you Naruto-kun' she thought.
"Hinata I can tell what you're thinking."
"Sorry Naruto-kun."
"Don't worry about him. It's just a thing of the past. I just want to forget that you had a crush on Kiba."
Hinata's head fell and she stared at the ground while they continued walking, "Naruto I never had a crush on Kiba."
"Huh? You didn't? Then what are you thinking about," he calmed down a little with the last question.
"Oh nothing in particular," she said looking back up and a tear slipped out of her eye and ran down her cheek. She quickly wiped it away.
"Hinata what's wrong?," he said grabbing her shoulder making herr stop walking,"Come on you can tell me."
He smiled but the tears kept coming and she shook her head, "If I say anything you might start crying too."
"Hinata tell me I don't care if I cry, I'll cry with you and maybe I won't feel so bad afterward," Naruto pulled her closer hugging her lightly.
"Okay," she said and he let go and looked her in the eyes, "I was....thinking about..uhh...how....I wish that Sasuke was here for you," she blurted the last part not wanting to stay on the subject anymore.
Naruto's serious face lightened then saddened, "Then why didn't you just say that in the first place idiot," he said almost as quiet as Hinata's ever heard him.
"I knewI should've just kept my mouth shut," she thought out loud.
"At least you didn't lie to me like everyone else."
She picked up walking again and Naruto stayed a few steps behind. He had his hands in his pockets and was lost in his thoughts when he hit something.
Hinata had stopped and turned around facing him. She put her arms around him, pher eyes damp from the tears, "Naruto I'm so sorry I brought it up."
He wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her tight. She felt her shoulder get a little wet and realized must have been crying too.
"Don't worry Hinata-chan I do feel better now."
"What? Does no one talk about me anymore?," a figure jumped down out a tree. As the male walked forward Naruto broke the hug and threw Hinata behind him, still holding her hand.
When the shadow stepped into the light he smiled.
"Sasuke what are you doing here?," Naruto growled at him.
"I was in the village and decided to see what you and Sakura were up to," Sasuke answered flatly.
"What do you mean Sakura-chan," Hinata stepped out from behind her boyfriend.
"Well well well," Sasuke started, "what do we have here. You grew up real nice now didn't you Hinata?"
"Leave her alone, your fight is with me. And what did you do to Sakura?," Naruto clenched his fists and moved in front of Hinata.
"Relax she either doesn't want to remember or thinks it was a dream. I wouldn't bring it up if I were you when you talk to her though," he smiled trying to get a look at Hinata, "Hinata what are doing hanging out with this guy. Why don't you come home with me. We can play a little game if you wa-,"
"Thats enough. Shut up Sasuke!," Hinata yelled and walked up to him, Naruto tried to stop her, but she just knocked his hands away, "Just leave."
"Okay, okay. I'll go, but only under one condition," he smiled down at her while she looked up.
He was a little taller than Naruto.
"What could you possibly want," Naruto growled again.
"I will go...if...I get a kiss from our sweet little Hinata-chan here," her eyes got wide as she realized what he said.
Hinata thought for a moment and took how little distance there was between her and Sasuke into account when she made her decision, "You'll leave and wont bother us anymore?," she hung her head.
"Thats correct," He smiled,"so what will it be?"
