Chapter Twelve: Party Time

Most of the party preperations were completed the day before and the only thing left to do was bake Shino's cake and blow up the remaining balloons.

While the girls baked the cake mostly, Sakura and Hinata, the guys, all except Kiba and Shino, blew the balloons up with a helium tank.

When they finished, the girls where waiting for the cake to finishing baking, and there was still some helium left in the tank.

Naruto decided hed play a trick on Hinata.

He took a big swig of helium and snuck up behind her. The other girls noticed him but kept quiet.

When he got close enough, Naruto wrapped his arms around Hinata and in a very high pitch voice screamed, "Suprise Hinata-chan!"

Hinata jumped across the room and Naruto, still with his new voice, laughed and teared up a little.

"Naruto, that was a stupid move," Hinata said with her arms crossed.

"Why's that Hinata-chan," his voice was back to normal he must have laughed all the helium away.

"Because now I'm breaking up with you," the heiress said walking past him making everyone look at them.

"Aww, come on Hinata I'm sorry. it was a joke, seriously," he apologised turning to look at her as she went over to the front door.

"Kidding," she smiled as the door shut behind herself, leaving everyone confused and Sakura smiling.

The pink haired kunoichi walked over and pulled the cake from the oven.

"Looks good to me, what do you think Ino?," she asked her best friend.

"Oh, so good. I want some now," she pouted knowing that was impossible.

Hinata left to go get Shino and see if Kiba was going to be able to make it.

Unfortunatly he wasn't there, so she continued on to get the birthday boy to take him back to Ino's.

"Hello Hinata," Shino greeted her after opening the door, "What can I do for you today?"

"Well, you see, there's a bug of some sort at Ino's and we're all to afraid to touch it.....or go near it for that matter," she scratched the back of her head hoping it sounded beliveable.

"And you want me get it out correct?"

The Hyuuga nodded her head.

"Alright lets go," her teammate said with a sigh.

As they continued thier walk about halfway to Ino's, Shino piped up, "So what kind of cake did you guys make?"

"What do you mean?" she countereded back. He caught on.

"You're lying about the bug. And the only event going on today is my birthday," he stated.

"It's a chocolate cake your favorite. Just act surprised and be thankful Naruto knows who the party's for," she smiled and laughed at the thought of when her boyfriend came back to the village.

Thier conversation died when they got to the house in question.

Before they entered, Hinata grabbed the back of Shino's coat, "Im sorry. I dont know if Kiba will be here or not he wasn't at home when I went to check so he could be or might have been just out training or wandering," Hinata looked shamefully down at the floor.

"Its okay Hinata. I'm glad you tried," he smiled behind his coat.

She nodded and put a smile on and contined to head inside.

When the door opened and Shino stepped through, everyone arose from thier hiding places and shouted in unison, "Surprise!"

Shino looked at the decoration and everything around him and chuckled a 'Thank You' to everyone.

He recieved hugs from the girls and handshakes from the guys, except Kiba who was nowhere to be found.

As the day wore on at almost 6 'o clock, the front door of Ino's house opened and in stepped a familiar ninja, who was of course late.

"What I miss," he shouted and everyone stared at him. Shino got up from his seat and walked over to the door where his best friend stood, "Nice to see you."

"Yeah I know things have been pretty hectic lately," then he noticed something, "Hey get in here you dummy and say 'hi' at least. Happy Birthday by the way."

A girl with brown hair down to the small of her back walked into the house after peeking around the corner.

She walked over to Shino and extended her hand, "Hello and Happy Birthday Shino. My names Ruma," she introduced herself.

Shino took the hand and said, "Hello and I dont supose I don't need to introduce myself."

"No Kiba talks about his friends all the time," she looked at the dog trainer, then the people behind him, "I can see why," she smiled.

"Hey how come Shino can shake her hand but I can't?," said annoyed Naruto.

"Because I trust him in this situation," Kiba snapped back.

"Naruto what do you mean?," Hinata looked at him and Naruto realized what he said.

"Nothing absolutly nothing," he said. It was almost impossible to keep from stuttering but he managed.

"Ruma, are you hungry?," Sakura asked thier new addition.

"Uhh..," she looked at Kiba who approved she could do whatever she wants, "Starving," she said with a sigh.

"Come on we'll get you something," Ino said as Sakura, Tenten, and Hinata stood and walked towards the kitchen. Ino ran over, grabbed Rumas arm and pulled her in the same direction as the others.

When Sakura confirmed the door was closed and no one was on the other side listening, she ran over to Ruma, "Spill it. What's it like being with Kiba?"

"Sakura, you just met the girl introduce yourself first," Tenten said from the fridge.

"Right sorry. Sakura Haruno and that's Hinata Ino and Tenten," she said pointing to each in turn, "so come on lets hear it."

"You'll have to excuse her shes a romance junky," Hinata smiled at her teammates girlfriend.

Out in the living room the guys sat around playing poker using acctual chips, like eatiable chips. Naruto's bright idea since they couldn't find the playing chips.

Neji won all but one of the three games they played so far. The one he lost Shikamaru won and Kanai squealed when he did.

Choji had his own personal bag of barbaque chips that he let Kanai have only one of.

"I think I'm gonna go see what the girls are doing," Kiba said with a worried tone in his voice.

"Kiba don't worry about it," Naruto said to everyones surprise, "I'm sure she's fine."

"I'll go check ya big baby," Kanai stood up and walked over to the door, almost tripping on Lee on her way, "Sorry Lee."

"It is okay," he said focused on the game,but still gave a thumbs up in her direction.

Kanai walked over to the kitchen door and opened it. She was quickly pulled inside by Ino and Sakura.
