Naruto stood outside Hinata's house, waiting for her like he had everyday for the past week. No matter what he did she always either turned him down or ignored him. When she did speak to him she didn't stutter anymore.
"Naruto I'm sorry but I have a mission today," was always a popular answer for her.
He didn't understand what he was doing wrong so he decided something.
- Flashback-
"You're what?," Ino asked the blond.
"I'm throwing a party for Hinata-chan," he told her.
"Oh, is it her birthday?," Ino pulled out her phone and checked her calander.
"No it's just a party. I wanna do something to make her see how much I love her," he explained to Choji's teamate.
"Naruto, a party isn't the way to show her that. In fact gifts and junk won't work either. You have to make her believe you using words," Ino seemed angry but was acctually worried for the guy.
"But that's hard," he said dropping to the ground, "she won't even talk to me anymore."
"Well then you just have to talk to her even if she doesn't say anything back," she pointed down the road, "now go before she leaves on her mission today."
-flashback end-
He waited outside hidden behind the stone wall.
When she came out she looked around the corner for him.
When she saw him she tried to run back to the house, but Naruto was faster and he caught her arm. She tried to break free, but to no evail she reluctintly stopped fidgiting.
"What do you want this time Naruto," she looked at him this time when she spoke, "I don't have a lot of time, so make it quick," Hinata noticed he loosened his grip so she yanked her arm from him.
"Hinata it's been a week. Will you believe me this time. I truthfully love you," he looked at her white eyes and noticed tears forming.
"Naruto I can't alright. You were too late the first time you asked," she kept her eyes locked on his and held the tears back.
"Hinata, what do you mean, why am I too late?"
She mumbled under her breath as she looked down at the ground.
He couldnt make it out, "What? Hinata tell me whats going on," he tried to get her to look at him.
"Arranged mariage," she looked back up at him.
Pain spead across his face. Then it softened.
"Oh well I'm sorry for everything I-,"
"Naruto don't apologize. I should have told you the first time. But you know something good came out of this," she smiled.
"What's good about us not being able to be together?," the blond asked her.
"I worked up a lot of courage to tell you that and it seems I still have some left," she propped herself up on her toes and kissed him.
Naruto closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her.
She broke away, "Naruto?"
"Oh I'm sorry I didnt mean to-" he rubbed the back of his neck.
"I lied. There's no arranged marriage. I set up a test and you passed," she smiled and she hugged him.
"What do you mean I passed? I've never passed a test in my life," he scratched his head.
"I wanted to see if you would still say you love me even if there was someone else. The fact that you didnt push me away said that you do."
"Hinata, I told you before you were smart right?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Because sometimes you're to smart," Naruto said as he pulled her close to him kissing her.
Hinata's eyes were wide for a moment but then she slowly shut them, falling into his kiss.
