Chapter Twenty-Eight: Polar Opposites

He heard the window over his bed slide open. Naruto didn't check who it was, he just let them in. He heard their footsteps walk through his home and slowly cracked his eyelids. No sign of who it could be, he'd have to get up. Naruto slid his right arm from underneath Hinata. She was fast asleep and it was probably the only night she'd gotten a good night's sleep since....the night after Shino's party. And now it was almost her birthday, almost December. Sometimes he wondered where time went after it ticked away. No need to think about that now.

He quietly raised from the matress, crawling over her half naked figure. He swiftly moved down the hallway towards the kitchen where he heard someone digging around in the fridge. Naruto got to the corner and immediately recognized them even in the dark. Their red eyes gave it away.

"Sasuke? Do you know what time it is?," Naruto asked turning on the light and pointing to the clock above his head.

"About," he stared at the ticking hands,"three twenty five," he smirked and went back to scrounging.

"Good you can tell time. Why are you here?," Naruto rubbed his face. He needed a shower, bad.

"I was hungry. Are you blind?," Sasuke held up a peice of ham and then slapped it down on a slice of bread.

"Then why didn't you go to a grocery store?," Naruto crossed his arms.

"In case you didn't know, people around here don't trust me and I don't have any money. Your Hokage didn't think I could 'over power the snake and come back', so she gave it to the poor people," Sasuke took a bite of his newly assembled sandwhich.

"Then why don't you stay with Sakura?," Naruto yawned and slid down the wall to sit on the floor.

"I didn't want you to get jealous," the raven haired boy continued rumaging through the kitchen.

"Seriously? Hinata is asleep in my bed, and you think I'd get jealous? You're stupid."

"Says you," he countered and growled under his breath at the metion of Naruto's relationship,"and why do you think Sakura would let me near her house?"

"Because. No matter how hard she tries to hide it or how much time she spends with Lee, she's still in love with you," Uzumaki stood up.

"Yeah right," Sasuke found a can of juice and opened it.

"Yeah, that is right," he looked at his best friend,"Look I'm going back to sleep. Leave through the front door this time," he walked sleepily down the hallway.

Uchiha stared down at the can and then out the window,"She always was jealous of Hinata. And now she's getting less attention."

Naruto came back to the bedroom to find Hinata sitting up still in her 'sleepwear.'

"Hinata please, if you're going to stay dressed like that, at least pull the covers up. You know how Kurama gets," he turned around and waited.

Hinata blushed and reached over to grab her jacket. She wrapped it around herself and went to stand behind him. He turned to face her and seeing she still hadn't zipped it up, he started to do it for her.

"Who was it?," she stared into his blue eyes as they went from her face to her jacket zipper.

"You," he sighed and pulled the zipper halfway up the entire length, so he could still see her breasts,"Probably don't wanna know," Naruto put a hand on each side of her face and pulled her head towards him. He kissed her forehead and she put her hands over top of his.

"Yes I do. They snuck in, through the room we were sleeping in," she played with her fingers.

"What's wrong? It's not like you can't take 'em. You're just as strong as anyone," he smiled and walked pass her to the bed.
