Olivia starts to develop feelings for Shayne, before learning that Courtney also likes him. They end up competing against each other to gain his affection. Meanwhile Shayne is completely oblivious that either of them like him.
I was dressed and ready for the party tonight and was sitting on the couch. Vanessa had invited Olivia and I to her party at her new place in town. Vanessa said a lot of our old friends from school would be there so I was excited to see what everyone has been up to.
"Shayne?" Olivia called from inside the bedroom.
"Yeah?" I replied.
"How do I look?" She said coming into the living room.

"You look like a snack" I said.
"What kind of snack?" She asked giggling.
"Scratch that, you look like a full course meal" I said.
"Thanks babe" She said blushing.
"You know I'm kind of hungry" I said grinning.
"You can eat at the party" Olivia said and walked out the door.
I follow her out the door laughing. She sure does know how to tease me. We get in the car and head to the party. I pull up in the driveway of Vanessa's house and let Olivia out. I turn off the car and get out. We walk to the door hand in hand. Olivia knocks on the door. The door opens and Vanessa is on the other side smiling.
"Hey Shayne!" She says smiling and gives me a hug.
"Hey!" I say.
"And Olivia.." Vanessa says.
"Hey..." Olivia says.
That was strange but I brushed it off. We're all friends here right?
"Come on in" Vanessa says.
Olivia and I walk past her through the door and inside. There's a ton of people here. I only recognize about half of them from my time in school. Olivia taps me on the shoulder. I turn around to face her.
"Yeah?" I said.
"I'm gonna go get a drink, I'll be right back" She said.
"Ok, I'll be here" I say as she leaves.
I was talking to my friend Scott from Algebra class when I felt a touch on my back.
"Olivia?" I asked expecting it to be her.
"Try again" Vanessa said smiling.
"Oh hey! What's up?" I asked.
"Can I talk to you?' she asked.
"Sure" I replied.
"Somewhere quiet?" She asked.
"Uh, ok" I said.
We walked to the corner of the room where it was less crowded.
"So, what's on your mind?" I asked.
"You know I've had my eye on you ever since middle school" she said.
"Uh ok?" I said a little confused.
"And I've been meaning to tell you something" she said trailing her fingers on my chest.
"What's that?" I asked.
"I've had the biggest crush on you" Vanessa said.
"That's nice but I'm kinda engaged?" I say.
"And?" She said placing her hand on my heart.
"So, I'm taken by the love of my life, so.. I'm gonna have to take a pass" I told her.
"Wow, I thought we had something" she said.
"We're just friends" I reply.
"That's right, now get your hands off my man hoe" A voice said.
I saw Olivia standing behind us. She did not look to happy. The look on her face said it all.
"Liv I-" I tried to say.
"Shut up Shayne, I got this" Olivia said.
"This is kind of a personal conversation honey" Vanessa said.
"Excuse me?" Olivia said.
I knew where this was headed. This conversation was not going to end well. I had to get out of here before things turned sour.
"Olivia I think we should go-" I said.
"No, hold up this is just getting interesting" Vanessa said.
"Yeah, I want to hear what she has to say" Olivia said.
I grabbed Olivia's hand and tried to drag her out of there. She wouldn't budge. They were just staring each other down. There was only one option left. I picked up Olivia and threw her over my shoulder like a fireman. She was not too happy about it. While I walked out of the house she was hitting my chest with her fists and cursing out Vanessa. I finally put her down when we got to the car. She tried to go back inside but I grabbed her and stopped her.
"Shayne let me go" She said annoyed.
"No" I said holding on.
"You're really going to let her disrespect me like that?" She said as I helped her into the car.
"No, I'm protecting you" I said.
"What?" From what?" She said confused.
"From getting in trouble for assault, because I know you would kick her ass" I told her.
"You really think so?" She asked.
"I know so, I've seen you in action remember" I say grinning.
"Yes you have" she said laughing.
I started the car and drove home. With my free hand, I interlocked it with Olivia's hand. When we got home I let her in the door. I locked the door and then sat on the couch to unwind.
"Shayne!" She called from the bedroom.
"Yeah?" I answered.
"Come here" She said with a slight tinge in her voice.
"Coming" I said hoping I wasn't in trouble.
I walked into the bedroom and expeced her to be mad at me. Hopefully she would go easy on me.
"Liv?" I said.
"Shayne, you know I'm still mad at you for that party" She said.
"Yeah.." I reply.
"I'm still upset that you didn't let me beat her ass" She continued.
"About that I didn't want to-" I started to say.
"Now I've got all this energy and you're the only one around" She finished.
"Well we can watch a movie or something" I suggested.
"That's not what I had in mind" She said sliding off her jacket.
"What did you have in mind?" I asked.
She walked up to me and was centimeters away. I expected her to touch me or something but she closed the door behind me.
"I was thinking of something much more active" She said smiling.
"What do you- ohhhhhhhh" I said.
"Mhm" she said and grabbed my shirt.
"Let me help you with that" I said grinning.
I took off my shirt slowly and tossed it on the ground. The rest of that night? Let's just say, she wasn't kidding when she said she still had a lot of energy left.
