Pain Behind Smiles

-Misun's POV-

I walked ahead of Haechan.

"How could life be so cruel?" I thought to myself. My best friend gets to be with the man whom I love.

As I entered the house all of our friends were sitting there. Seulgi saw me and departed from the group.

I faked a smile. "Congrats love. Make sure he treats you like a queen, because you deserve the world."

It hurt to hear these words come from my mouth, as they were all lies.

Haechan soon joined from behind me and smiled at the girl.

"Congrats Seulgi!" he secretly grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. "Make him happy, okay? Because I know there are a lot of girls who'd wish to be in your position."

"Thanks you two. The both of you should go out too! That'd be way too cool! Plus, you look good together." she winked.

We both faked a laugh. "I think we'll just be friends." I said.

"That sucks. Anyways, I'm going back over there. See you guys in a bit." Seulgi gave me a hug before departing from us.

I turned to face Haechan. "God, I want to sock her in the throat. I can't stay here Haechan. If you want, you are welcomed to come chill at my place with me for a little. If not then that's cool."

"I'm down. I'll probs be ignored here anyways. Let me grab my things and we'll bounce." he gave a small smile before releasing my hand and disappearing.

I took one last glance at the happy couple. A small smile appeared as I felt my heart drop. Even if I didn't end up with him, I'll just sit and watch my best friend be happy. As much as i hated the thought of the two together, she was still my best friend.

"Ready?" Haechan asked.

I took one last glance and bitterly smiled.
"Yeah, let's go."
