It was the day after Sunny and Meerkat's wedding, and, true to their word, Shore and Orange were getting married.

They didn't tell anyone but Ander, seeing as she was the one officiating the wedding. The idea of having a hidden marriage just seemed exciting to the pair.

"I can't believe we're actually doing this." Orange exclaimed as she and Shore walked through the forest, searching for Ander.

"Me neither." Shore admitted, grinning at her.

"Apple and Permafrost are going to MURDER us."

"So will my parents."

"It'll be worth it."

"SO worth it."

They stepped into a clearing and found Ander resting amongst the roots of a tree, gazing at them.

"About time." She commented. "One might presume you got cold feet."

"Never," Shore declared.

"Very well." Ander continued, rising to her feet. "With the trees and day stars as your witnesses, we shall begin your wedding."

"I thought you didn't like the day stars," Shore commented.

"They are miserable beings who despise their own existence. I thought I'd give them some amount of happiness to appreciate."

"Oh." But before Ander could say another word, two figures burst into the clearing and screeched like howler monkeys.

"I KNEW IT!!" Apple screamed.

"WERE YOU SERIOUSLY GOING TO GET MARRIED WITHOUT US?!?" Permafrost cried.

"How did you even find us?" Orange questioned.

"Simple. I followed the scent of a sailing ship, and it led me right here." Apple offered.

"And besides, you need witnesses for a wedding to be valid." Permafrost added.

"We have hundreds of stars, trees, and spiritual beings that you cannot sense present as witnesses," Ander countered. "But I suppose you two could stay as well." They laughed.

"Leaving wasn't going to be an option." Apple declared.

"NOW GET MARRIED AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER!" Permafrost screeched.

"Become canon!" Apple added.

"You two are ridiculous," Shore commented, but he was grinning.

So Ander began the ceremony, repeating everything in Latin after she had said it in their usual language, because she insisted it made the wedding more official.

"Does anyone object to these two being wed?" Ander asked. Apple and Permafrost glared at the trees, as if someone might emerge and object and they were ready to stab whoever dared to interupt their ship. But no one did.

"Then by the power invests in me by the three moons and stars of the sky, I now pronounce you officially canon." She turned to Shore. "You can kiss the bride."

"Hell yeah I can." Shore muttered before Orange grabbed him and kissed him.

Apple and Permafrost screeched again and dropped to the ground. Ander sighed at the pair.

"Married in secret in the woods," she said dreamily. "It's just like Braveheart, but without the death and war."

"What happens now?" Orange asked.

"Now you go and be together forever and be fluffy and happy and have little dragonets for me and Apple to spoil completely rotten because they are proof of your canonism."  Permafrost explained.

"Now you should consider informing your families that you're married." Ander offered. "Saying nothing didn't end well for Willam Wallace and Marion or Romeo and Juliet- I doubt it will end well for you either."

"I have no idea who any of those dragons are, but my parents will kill me if they find out." Orange offered.

"Mine probably will too." Shore agreed.

"No!" Apple objected. "Well, Joy MIGHT, but Kelp probably won't."

"I foresee no plausible future where either of you are slaughtered for exchanging vows." Ander confirmed. Shore and Orange exchanged a glance.

"We'll think about it." He insisted.

*~*~*~*~*

That night, Shore say at dinner with his family, awaiting the proper moment to share his news and hoping that he could escape before Joy and Kelp killed him.

"So," Joy began. "What did everyone do today?"

"Nothing worth mentioning." Rin said boredly. "Hung out with our friends while they're still here."

"I gave the day stars some happiness in their dark sunshine of a life." Ander offered.

"That's always nice." Kelp replied.

"I got married." Shore said casually. Eyes widened and jaws dropped.

"You're joking." Rin insisted.

"Nope."

"Fascinating." Ander commented, still eating her grapes as everyone else stared at Shore.

Kelp opened his mouth to comment, only to snap it shut in shock a moment later. He glanced over at Joy, awaiting her move.

Joy stared at her son.

"You WHAT!?" She finally exploded.

"Orange and I got married," Shore admitted.

"And you didn't tell us before now WHY?!"

"Well, we just kinda decided to do it yesterday...." Joy continued to stare.

"And you didn't think that MAYBE YOUR FAMILY MIGHT WANT TO BE PRESENT FOR YOUR WEDDING!?"

"I thought you'd make a big deal out of it and I didn't want that!"

"OF COURSE I'M GOING TO MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF IT!"

"Joy," Kelp murmured, resting his talons over hers. He gave her a warning look and Joy calmed slightly.

"Do Orange's parents know?" Kelp asked.

"Not unless she's told them." Shore insisted. "The only people that know are you all, Apple, and Permafrost."

"What, so PERMAFROST gets to know before ME?!" Rin cried.

"She kinda sniffed out the wedding with Apple- there was no way to stop the shippers." Ander offered.

"YOU KNEW ABOUT IT TOO?"

"Of course; I officiated it."

Joy and Kelp facetaloned at the same time.

"So...." Shore began. "You're not mad?"

"Oh, I am VERY mad." Joy corrected him. "In fact, I'm furious. I have ONE son, and he doesn't even let me attend his wedding!"

"But....that's all you're  upset about?"

"Yes. My ship has sailed, so THAT'S something. But you and Orange need to tell everyone." Kelp snorted.

"Oh, that will be great." He commented. "Glory will kill them."

Shore went pale.
