"Beca!" Chloe called for her girlfriend.

"Yeah?" Beca appeared in Chloe's old teenage bedroom.

They had been staying at Chloe's mom's for the whole month of August and a few weeks in July. Beca skipped out on her father's wedding after they had gotten into a fight over the woman bringing Chloe as her date. Chloe didn't know that was the reasoning though. She thought Beca just had a normal argument with her father. She had no idea it was about her.

"Have you seen my bikini?" Chloe asked.

"Which one?" Beca replied seeing the scattered mess of stuff all over the twin size bed they had been sharing.

"The red and black one, it has roses on it-"

"Mm, that one" Beca smirked causing an eye roll from Chloe.

"Our flight is at midnight babe," Chloe sighed. "And somebody insisted we went to the bowling alley instead of packing" She narrowed her eyes down at her girlfriend.

"I never said anything-"

"I know that smirk and what it could make happen. Fallen for it way too many times" Chloe chuckled.

"You love it" Beca said. "But no, I have not actually"

"Ugh," Chloe groaned as she just folded more of their t-shirts. "I mean, it isn't that important. It's not like I will need it with college coming back up and all of that" Chloe shrugged.

"Oh yeah, I bet it would kill you to go shopping for a new one if we have to" Beca chuckled. "So, we are having a room together in The Bella's House right?"

"I figured" Chloe said like it was obvious.

"Well, Aubrey is there for half of the year until she graduates" Beca said and felt the air grow thick.

"Has anyone talked to her?" Chloe asked.

"Not to my knowledge, she pissed you all pretty off" Beca pointed out.

"Well, you haven't really told me your thought on what happened" Chloe said softly.

"I hid from you for two weeks-"

"You never told me though. We just made out, went back to your place and had sex. Then summer started and now it's ending, but you still haven't told me" Chloe said.

"What is there to say, Chlo?" Beca was leaning against Chloe's dresser; watching her pack. "I mean, sure I'm a little pissed. I just, I don't know what I did to her" Beca shrugged.

Chloe was astonished sometimes with Beca. The way she seemed so relaxed and cool about everything. Only sometimes would she change from that. Like that time at the beach where that lifeguard kept hitting on Chloe. The older woman was sure Beca wouldn't have a reaction, but she did.

Beca became very pissed off and stand offish. She was trying to handle the fact that she was more jealous then anything without freaking the fuck out. Eventually though, she did. Chloe wasn't complaining though. It was nice to see Beca so protective over someone she wanted to keep her's.

But this was different. At the studio that night after Beca disappeared for two weeks, Chloe saw a sensitive side. Someone who was afraid they weren't enough. Someone who thought that they weren't loved. She hated seeing Beca in that state of mind. Chloe's rage at Aubrey came more from seeing Beca like that because of her then any of her lies.

"How are you so laid back about this?" Chloe stopped packing to keep her focus on Beca.

"Because," Beca said and started to stutter for words. "It- I- Reall- It's not like she was lying, in any way-"
