Our first holiday we tackled was Thanksgiving. Our original plan was to go down to Pasadena for dinner with my parents and grandparents. Now Sierra had a little something extra planned after Thanksgiving. This is the conversation Sierra started with me when she introduced her plan: "So I have been thinking about doing our own Thanksgiving here".
I asked, "Are we not going down to my parents"?
"Yes, but we will do it the day after".
"I just don't think we have the capability to cook a Thanksgiving dinner here, plus we have never cooked a Thanksgiving dinner before".
"We can handle it. We will get a small turkey, some mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, and desserts".
"Do you really think we can fit all that in the fridge? Plus, I don't eat that much food. Remember I am not a fan of Thanksgiving leftovers because of my parents".
"We can make it work. Let's invite George too. Make it a friends thing".
"I don't know about that".
"I thought George was our friend, are you saying you don't like him"?
"No, I don't think his mom will let us take him for a few days to Salisbury".
"When we go to bowling, let's ask him".
That was how our conversation went about before we asked. It was Sierra's idea for inviting George to our apartment. So went to bowling and asked him to comeback with us after Thanksgiving. He was on board and his mom was ok with him leaving for a few days. So we cooked the food just fine and managed a successful Thanksgiving. I picked the right size turkey for the oven, but if I put Sierra's choice for the turkey back because she wanted a big one. I knew it was not going to fit our little oven, so I made the right choice. We spent so much of our time just relaxing with George in our apartment. We joked about with each other, but we all got deep with one another. George talked about the incident in Ocean City where he nearly lost his life from breaking his spine. He had never shared his thoughts with anyone before, we were the first people he opened up to. I never thought that our little weekend would have much meaning, but we all grew closer together. If there was one thing that went wrong, it would be at the bowling alley down the street from our apartment. We were having fun bowling for fun and rifting with each other. Sierra and George were getting on me as the little bitch of the group. I came to terms with that running joke because I know it was in good faith. Sierra, on the other hand, was taking things too far again. She spent about two minutes bringing up personal details to laugh at me. It stopped being in all good fun. George even figured she brought up some intimate details that crossed a line or two, that is why he stayed quiet for that time. George actually cut her off and hit hard with a joke about being broke. Sierra became pissed at George. She stopped talking to anyone until George walked away to the bathroom, that was when Sierra started shit talking about him. She did not understand why he was picking on her. Sierra was yelling how her money problem was not to be joked with, it was crossing a line and no one can make fun of her problem. I brought up the comment she made about me being fat during our first fight, but she said it was not the same situations. George meant it offend her. I then talked with her about how she was taking simple joking out of line with me again. I expressed my feelings without chewing her out, I was trying to get her to understand her own actions. I believed her on changing again and left it alone. The next morning, Sierra woke me up trying to talk about how she hated being around George. I did not get it, he is our friend, you invited him, but he can not stand him. Why invite him over then? Still bugs me today about this weekend, but this day will be brought up again later.
