Chapter 38: Blake

I swear I will never hurt her again. I swear on my life I won't. Ma picks me up from the pub.

"So how did it go? Was Aimee there?" I stare out the window as we drive off.

"Yeah, yeah she was." Ma taps her fingers on the steering wheel.

"So, is everything okay between you two now?" I stare out the window absent-mindedly, replaying the night's moments over and over in my head.

"Yeah Ma, we're all good. I told her something I should have a long time ago."

Ma frowns as we pull up onto the driveway. She looks over at me.

"Well what did you tell her?" I turn to face her and smile.

"That I love her. That I always have. And that I'll never stop." Ma nods and smiles. She doesn't say anything as we walk inside, but I can see she has tears in her eyes.

"And just where have you been." Dad is sitting on the couch, bottle in hand. Dear God, he is normally asleep by now.

"Michael he's just been with some friends there is no need to panic." Dad stands up and points his finger at Ma.

"You, woman, stay out of this. I didn't ask for your opinion."

"Ma is right Dad, I was just hanging out with some friends." His tone turns dark.

"Was she there?" I don't need to ask who. He only talks about one girl that way and it makes me sick.

"Yes Dad, Aimee was there." Dad shakes his head. "You know whether you like or not Dad, I've been seeing for Aimee a while now and nothing is going to stop that." He turns around I glare him in the eyes. "Not even you." Dad starts getting angry.

"You little SHIT!" he throws his bottle across the room, it smashes against the wall. "You will do as I say, you are my son." I laugh darkly at him.

"Yes, Dad I am your son, not your fucking slave. And I will continue to see Aimee as long as I like because I love her." Dad's eyes widen. "That's right you heard me. I love her. Sue me." With that I'm off, I storm up the stairs to my bedroom. I don't know why Ma stays with him. She deserves better.
