Phil

Walking through the school doors Phil felt dizzy. After lunch yesterday he hadn't eaten and he wasn't used to that. He told himself to eat the lunch his mom gave him, or else he might mess up practice. God, the last thing he wanted to do was go to basketball practice but he didn't have a lot of choice. Be a man. A real man.

Phil made his way through the crowd towards his locker. It was his special skill to never be noticed. He made himself invisible. Nobody looked up when he walked by, nobody noticed him class, not even the teachers. He liked it that way, people his age weren't generally nice to him.

Next to his locker a couple was making out. Phil recognized the boy, his name was Spencer, he was also on the basketbal team. The girl was just some cheerleader, a typical basic 17 year old. While Phil felt extremely uncomfortable being close to this couple he had to grab a book from his locker.

As silently as he could he openend his locker, his face being a foot away from the kissing pair. He tried to focus on his books but out of the corner of his eye he saw the girls hand moving. She went from the top of the jocks chest all the way down, caressing his groin. Phil followed the moving of her hand, without him even meaning to.

"What the hell are you doing?!" shocked Phil looked up, only to see that Spencer was looking right at him. "I.. eh.. I..." Phil felt his heart pounding in his chest trying to come up with an excuse. "You dirty pervert!" the girl screamed out. Suddenly the entire hall was silent, all eyes on Phil. "No... I didn't.." Phil looked around for a way to leave, but more jocks were attracted by the loud voices. "You like to watch huh?!" Spencer grabbed Phil by his collar and shoved him up against the lockers. Phil was a tall guy, but Spencer was taller and strong enough to lift Phil up off the ground.

"I... I'm sorry, I swear I didn't.." "You didn't what huh?! I saw you looking!" Spencer yelled. About thirty students were now watching silently in the hall, two of which were standing right behind Spencer, the jocks... "Can't get a girl for yourself huh? So you just watch other people?!" One of them said mockingly. "Dude that's disgusting!" The other said, coming closer to Phils face.

"Please!" Phil was terrified. Spencer pulled him from the lockers just to jam him back, twice as hard as before. Phils head banged into a lock hanging from the lockers, sending a sharp pain through the back of his head.

"Mister Evans!" one of the teachers made her way through the crowd of students. Phil didn't recognize her. "I suggest you put this young man down and get your but to class!" she said with a sharp and strict voice. Spencer definitely did know her because her voice changed the look in his eyes. Slowly he let go of Phil's shirt, while still remaining eye contact with him. Taking a step back he turned to the teacher. She nodded, and led the way to her classroom, while sending everyone in the hallway watching on their way.

Phil slowly slid down the lockers while panting, like he held his breath that entire time. Everyone in the hall was gone within a minute leaving Phil alone on the floor. He touched the back of his head and hissed when he felt the sore spot. That was gonna be a bump. Out of the corner of his eye he saw someone walking towards him, a boy. Phil looked up, a tall boy with brown curly hair looked at him with big brown eyes. For a second Phil thought the boy was gonna help him up, it seems like he was walking towards him.

"Howell!!" Phil looked to the other side of the hall where the call came from. "Hey Howell!!" The two other jocks who were up so close to Phil just a second ago were yelling. "Howell, come here for a sec!" The boy's eyes filled with fear, he looked down at Phil one more time, like he was apologizing, then he turned around and ran away. Away from the jocks into the empty hallway. The jocks started to laugh loudly. "Ah Howell don't go so soon!" "Yeah come back!!" After the boy was out of sight the boys kept grinning while walking to a classroom, looking down at Phil with disgust in their eyes.

Dan

Run. Don't stop. Keep running. When he reached the end of the hallway Dan stopped to turn around. Nobody. They didn't follow him. Relieved he caught his breath. They didn't follow me. It's fine.

The bell rang, making Dan realize that he was late for class. "Shit." he mumbled. He literally ran away from his classroom, now he has to walk all the way back through the entire school. Careful he looked around every corner before he kept walking, making sure that the halls were empty. He reached the spot where he saw the boy sitting on the ground, but he wasn't there anymore.

Earlier he was attracted by the scream of the girl, watching the incident from a distant. He felt sorry for the guy, even though he didn't know him. He had been in his place many times, but there was nothing he could do to help him. He wanted to help him up afterwards, but he didn't want to end up next to him on the ground, so he choose his own safety. It made him feel guilty looking back.

The next few periods were calm, boring. The last period before lunch break was biology, which Dan hated. He spent all the hours in the back of the class keeping quiet.

"Today we're learning all about the heart, how it works, how it is strong enough to pump your blood through your entire body, and, most importantly, rhythm." Mr. Davies said. "I want you all to get up from your chairs." Everyone looked around confused. "C'mon kids!" he said encouraging. "Stand up! It's gonna be fun, I promise!" Everyone started talking and laughing while they stood up from their chairs. "Yes I know very exciting, settle down."

Dan stood up, silently, and because he was all the way in the back he could lean back against the wall. Mr. Davies seemed pretty pleased with himself as everyone was standing next to their chairs. "Now, this is what were gonna do! Everyone is gonna do 20 jumping jacks!" All around the class sighs and complaints came out.

Oh hell no, I did not come here to do exercise. "Fucking bullshit." Dan whispered to himself. "After those jumping jacks, you are gonna try and take your own pulse. Then after 3 minutes you'll take it again and we'll see the difference!" Mr. Davies said with a big smile. He looked pretty fucking pleased which annoyed Dan even more. "Let's go! Jump everyone!"

The students slowly started jumping up and down, flapping their arms around like idiot birds. God, this is awful. Dan just sort of hopped up and down, so he wouldn't draw attention to himself. That failed horribly because soon he heard the jocks in the front laughing and they were looking at him.

"Look, the fag can't even do a normal jumping jack." "God, the girls are more athletic than him." More laughter... Dan just looked straight ahead, pretending he didn't hear them, but he did, and it hurt. In the meanwhile mr Davies started to count down from ten. "Keep going guys! Eight, seven, six!" Dan could actually feel his legs starting to hurt, this was a nightmare. "Four, three, two..."

BANG. A loud noise came from the other side of the classroom. A girl screamed and all the students started to gather around. Dan tried to look through the people and say someone laying on the floor. He recognized him immediately. It was him, the boy from the hallway.
