Phil
Phil decided to just ignore everything that bothered him. Nick vaguely left the group when he arrived? Don't care. He lost his virginity to a girl that didn't even care about him? So what? He didn't care about her either and now that he was friends with Spencer he could get anyone, no, any girl he wanted.
Right now he was just gonna focus on school and having fun. And those two went together easily when hanging out with Spencer. Phil was sitting next to him in maths class during their last period while he was telling a wild story about last Saturday. Apparently while Phil was upstairs with Mia a freshman dove into the pool while riding a shopping cart.
Even though it didn't feel like he was himself, it was good to belong in a group. It was a good feeling having people greet you in the hall, ask you how your weekend was. So what if that meant pretending someone you're not? Probably halve of the people in high school do that, right?
Right when Ms Steward started clapping her hands together, trying to silence the class, someone knocked on the door. A lady in her early thirties opened the door and smiled apologetically. Phil recognized her immediately, she always sat at the desk outside of the principals office.
"Hi, sorry to interrupt." She said while looking through the classroom. "The principal would like to speak to Spencer Evans." She nodded towards Spencer when her eyes fell on him. Phil frowned as Spencer stood up next to him. Spencer just glanced over to Phil and shrugged. "I dunno man." he answered Phil's unasked question.
Ms Steward didn't really seem to care as she waved her hand around to dismiss Spencer while still trying to gain the class' attention.
Dan
After the principal heard Nick's side of the story and saw a few videos he apparently knew enough and called not only Spencer, but also his father into the office.
Nick and Dan were now talking in the hallway next to the office, the principal said they didn't have to go back to class for the last period.
"I can't believe I only got one week detention." Nick grinned while running his hand through his hair. "I owe you big time." he said while softly punching Dan on the shoulder. Dan shrugged and blushed. "Nah, you did al yourself." he said while looking at his feet. "You decided to come clean."
"Well yeah, but without your support we wouldn't be here." Nick paused for a second as he searched for Dan's eyes. "He's gonna go away Dan." he nodded furiously. "He's not gonna get away with it this time."
Dan sighed as he looked up slowly. "That's what I thought last time. His father was like a fucking lawyer in there." Dan gestured vaguely towards the office. Nick let out a short laugh. "Yeah I met that man multiple times, he's a real asshole." His smile disappeared. "But this time it's not just your word against his. You have me, and the videos."
He looked really sure of his word. But then again, he's never been to the office for being bullied before. "And I know if I talk with Dennis he'll be on our team in no time." Nick nodded again. "It's all gonna be f.."
Before Nick could finish his sentence we heard a loud laugh come from behind us. "I should have known this had something to do with you two." Spencer was walking towards us, right behind the principal's assistant.
She was walking with short and quick steps as he heels made a loud clicking sound through the entire the hallway. She seemed as shocked by Spencer's call out as Nick and Dan were. "Now Dan, you didn't do something stupid like rat me out to the principal now did you?" He came closer with a sarcastic and mean smile.
"Spencer? Let's keep walking...?" the assistant said nervously but it sounded more like a question than a command. Either Spencer didn't hear her or he pretended he didn't because he just kept staring at Dan as he now stood right in front of him.
"I knew you were stupid, but are you really that stupid Howell?" Spencer spat out. "Throwing your boyfriend under the bus just for your own good?" His eyes scared the living hell out of Dan, as they always have.
The assistant now walked away quickly, probably going to get help. "I'm not throwing him under the bus, because you're not gonna go to his father." Dan said, trying to remain eye contact with Spencer without flinching.
"Right..." Spencer squinted his eyes. "And why wouldn't I do that?" Dan felt his breathing getting quicker as Spencer got closer. "B-because you're dad will find out about us." it was meant to come out a little more threatening-y, but it was good enough as Spencer froze in his shoes. "W-what?!"
"Yeah..." Dan scratched the back of his head nervously. "I still got most of the pictures and texts from when we were together. I'd hate it if they'd accidentally end up with your dad." Dan couldn't help but smile a little bit. He'd never been the one to be in charge when it came to Spencer, and it actually felt kinda good.
"You wouldn't do that." Spencer let out a short nervous laugh. Dan nodded his head in agreement, "No I wouldn't, I could never do that to you." his smile now turned into a sympathetic smile.
"But I would." Nick grinned. He had kept himself quiet during this conversation, knowing Dan should be the one to tell Spencer he was done, but now he couldn't help himself anymore. "I would, I could, I can and I will." Nick stepped forward, in front Dan, pushing Spencer back slightly. "I will, if you ever come close to me, Dan, Phil, Phil's father or Jessica again."
Spencer seemed quite overwhelmed and... well scared. It was a rare sight. He swallowed hard and opened his mouth to respond, but Nick cut him off. "You know I'm not lying. Unlike you I don't lie to my friends." Spencer looked like he could kill Nick, like actually kill him, right there and then.
"Mr Evans!" the three of us all looked to the side to see the principal standing there with his arms crossed. "My office, now." he commanded.
Spencer gave Nick one more death glare before spinning on his heal and following the principal.
"Fuuuuuckk." Dan let out a huge sigh as if he had been holding his breath the entire conversation. "That was... intense." he shook his head slightly.
"I enjoyed that." Nick turned around to face Dan. "I really did."
