Phil

Phil was in the library catching up on the schoolwork he missed the day before when he got a text form Dan asking him to come to the principal's office. Phil walked through the empty school, wandering why Dan was at the principal. The library was right next to it though, so it only took Phil a minute to reach Dan.

When he arrived at the office he felt his heart drop. Through the window he could see the principal and the coach yelling at Spencer, but outside sitting on a chair he saw Dan. Dan's hair was still wet, hanging over his face. His eyes were red and swollen from crying it seemed like. He had his legs pulled up into his chest and was hugging them, rocking back and forth.

The look in Dan's eyes made Phil's heart break. He looked beaten down, hurt, but more hurt than ever before. Something happened Phil knew immediately, and it wasn't just a beating or something. Something really bad happened.

Phil started to run towards Dan when he saw all this. He kneeled in front of him, trying to look him in the eyes. "Dan?" he asked softly. "Dan what happened?" Phil put his hand on Dan's knee, trying to get his attention. This startled Dan and made him pull his leg away. Only now Dan looked back into Phil's eyes. He looked broken, like someone stole something from him.

"Dan what did he do?" Phil felt anger rising inside of him. Someone hurt him and for the second time Phil wasn't there to protect him. At that moment the door of the office opened and Spencer walked out. Phil stood up and launched himself at Spencer. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO HIM?!" he shouted in his face pushing him back against the wall.

He felt two strong arms getting a grip on him from behind. "Calm down, Phil." he heard the coach say, pulling Phil away from Spencer. Spencer just looked at his feet in shame. "Dan, I'm so sorry." He whispered. Dan was still in the exact same position as before, not responding to the things happening around him. "Don't you fucking talk to him." Phil spat out, still being hold back by the coach.

The principal led Spencer through the hallway away from the office. The coach let Phil go slowly and turned to Dan. "Dan... he will be suspended and will not be allowed back here." Dan didn't respond. "He's not coming back okay?" The coach waited for a second but Dan was still staring at the wall. "Shall I call your mother?" the coach asked. That seemed to shake Dan out of it.

"No!" he said strongly. "No... I'll tell her myself." The coach nodded, "Okay, but she will have to come in somewhere next week to discus the matter, is that alright?" Dan's eyes turned blank again. "That's fine." The coach turned back to Phil, "Can you take him home, make sure he is alright?" Phil nodded and moved a little closer to coach, "What happened?" he whispered.

The coach sighed, "I think that is for Dan to tell you." He said before walking away. Phil looked at Dan, who was still in the same position. "Dan..." Dan slowly moved his head up so he could look at Phil. "Shall I drive you home?" Phil saw that Dan's eyes were tearing up again. "Ok..." he whispered.

Dan

In the drive home they were both silent. Dan just stared out of the window, sometimes he started tearing up again, but he hated crying in front of Phil. It made him feel weak, but then again, he had never felt weaker than he did now. His entire body was tense and his eyes were heavy. He just wanted to fall asleep and never wake up again. This was a nightmare.

Phil used Dan's keys to let them in. Dan just followed him mindlessly, unable to think straight. Phil put Dan on the couch, making sure he was comfortable and he just sat next to him. They just sat like that for minutes in silence.

"Where is your mom?" Phil finally asked. Dan took a deep breath, trying to get his thoughts in order. "Eh... She's gone for the weekend... something with work." His voice was low and it creaked.

"You are gonna tell her right?" "Never." Dan whispered. He hadn't looked Phil in the eye ever since they got home. He couldn't. He remembered seeing the pity and sympathy in his eyes at school, he couldn't take that.

"Will you tell me?" Phil slowly moved closer to Dan. "You don't have to, I... I just want to help." Dan shook his head, "You can't help me, nobody can." he felt more tears coming but he tried to push them down. "Please Dan... let me try."

Dan knew he had to tell Phil, he couldn't walk around with this alone, that would kill him. But he couldn't say it out loud. He pushed his hair away from his neck, revealing a few hickeys Spencer left. Out of the corner of his eyes he could see Phil's eyes widening. "Did he..." Phil's voice broke for a second, "touch you?"

Hearing Phil say this made Dan break down, tears started to flood. He remembered everything. How powerless he felt. The feeling of Spencer's hands where he didn't want them to be. His hot breath in his neck. He could still hear his moans, he could still feel the pressure, how he was pushed against the wall. He remembered everything and he let it all out, falling into Phil's arms.

He screamed, yelled, cried, all the pain and anger he felt came out. Phil held him, one arm around his body, one hand in his hair. Between cries and sobs Dan told everything Spencer did. He showed Phil the bruises on his wrist that Spencer's hand left behind. Because Dan was crying the entire time it took about an hour before the entire story was told.

They ended up lying on the couch together, Phil still holding Dan. Dan calmed down after a while, getting his breath under control again. Letting it all out like that made him feel relieved for a second. Phil holding made him feel better for a second. Dan felt exhausted from crying and just the entire experience, so I didn't take long until he fell asleep in Phil's arms.

Phil made sure not to move so Dan slept fine and he stayed with him the entire night.
