Dan
After their kiss Dan drove them to his house.
They had been sitting together for two hours now, just talking and talking. Like two addicts relapsing. Connecting in the way they had been craving for all the time they were apart. Dan had told Phil the entire story from beginning to end and Phil did the same for his side. He even told Dan about what happened with Mia.
Phil's head was spinning with information and emotions. While still feeling betrayed by Spencer and what he thought were his new friends, he found it hard to just trust Dan again. But he decided not to think about it to much and just go with his instincts.
Dan sat on the floor leaning against the couch Phil was sitting on with crossed legs. Dan had just talked about Nick persuading him to go to the principal.
"He was just so sure that it could work you know." Dan fiddling with his fingers while talking. "Like he knew we could get rid of Spencer." Dan slightly grinned. "He's actually a good guy, he just hung out with the wrong guys."
Phil tilted his head slightly. "So because you knew you couldn't rat Spencer out to his dad, Nick wanted to do it?"
Dan nodded smiling. "Yeah, but only if Spencer goes to your dad, which I highly doubt because I think Nick scared the shit out of him."
Phil laughed. "I can't believe he just turned on his best friend like that, just for you." "Yeah and he threw himself under the bus too. He got a week of detention." Dan ran his hand through his hair while looking up at Phil.
Phil frowned. "He got detention? Why? He came clean didn't he?" Dan shrugged, "Yeah but the proof against him was pretty waterproof, even though he delivered it himself." Dan was silent for a second and then realized what he had said, he hadn't told Phil about the videos made of him, that served as proof to the principal. He felt way too vulnerable in those videos to talk to Phil about them.
"Proof? What proof?" Phil asked confused. Dan closed his eyes cursing himself in his mind. "Nothing..." he said softly, while knowing damn well he couldn't get out of this one.
It was quiet for a few seconds and Dan could feel Phil staring at him. "Dan... Please tell me." Phil's voice was soft, but also firm. And Dan knew he was right, he couldn't hold things back now, he had no right. Phil deserved all honesty.
"Nick had these..." Dan glanced towards Phil for a second, feeling his cheeks turning red. "videos..." "Okay..." Phil said patiently.
"He made these videos while Spencer and the guys were bullying me..." Dan was talking so softly his voice almost disappeared at the end of his sentence. "Like pranks and stuff."
Phil stayed silent, giving Dan space to talk. "And we had to show the principal the videos in order to get Spencer expelled." Dan's voice trembled. He hated the videos. He hated watching them, he hated showing them to other people. It made him feel weak and worthless. When he looked up he saw Phil smiling at him.
"You did that for me?" he asked softly. Dan felt the shame fade away. "Of course..." he whispered. "I'd do anything for you." Dan felt himself blushing when Phil looked at him.
Phil put his hand open on the couch for Dan to hold. With a shy smile Dan lifted his hand and slowly slid it into Phil's. His skin made him shiver. "I'm scared Phil." Dan whispered.
"Why?" Phil held Dan's hand a bit tighter. "They've hurt me before... They've hurt you, what if they do it again?" Dan could feel tears burning. As happy as he was to be close to Phil again, he was just as scared to lose him again.
"They might..." Phil nodded. "If they don't somebody else will." Dan looked up with a sad look in his eyes.
"But..." Phil continued. "I'm not gonna let you go again. As long as you won't lie to me again, nothing can ever really hurt us the way we've been hurt before."
