Phil
Wearing his backpack on his back hurt like hell, so Phil decided to just carry with his hands. He felt like shit. He slept like shit. He looked like shit. He walked through the crowded hallway trying to wish himself away. He didn't want to be here, he didn't want to me anywhere. This was gonna be a shit day.
Then time seemed to slow down. On the other side of the hallway Dan was walking into Phil's direction. Everything else seemed to fade away. Phil knew Dan was an attractive boy but this... this was something new. He walked down the hallway with this confidence, the look in his eyes was strong. He looked... different. Phil was mesmerized, for just a few seconds he couldn't feel any pain or hurt.
This image was smashed by a guy who shoved Dan aside, against the lockers, using only his shoulder. The guy kept on walking, laughing with his friends. Phil snapped out of his trance and ran towards Dan, who fell on the floor.
"God, Dan are you alright?" Phil threw his backpack on the floor to free his hands and help Dan up. "Yeah, I'm fine." he smiled and fixed his hair. His hair looked... different. While moving his hair around, Phil noticed Dan's earrings. "You have pierced ears?" Dan touched his own earlobes as if he forgot they were there. "Uh yeah, got them last year, I just never wear them." "I like it... it looks good." Phil smiled. Dan started to blush, "Thanks." he looked down at his shoes.
"Do you want to get out of here?" Phil blurted out. "What? What do you mean?" "I mean... let's skip class, let's just go somewhere." Phil had no idea where this came from, he had never missed a single class. "Are you alright?" Dan looked deep into Phil's eyes, trying to figure out what came over him. "Yeah, I just... I really want to leave." Dan nodded, "Okay, let's go."
"Wait really?" "Yeah, why not. Where do you wanna go?" "Eh.." Phil realized he hadn't really thought this plan through. "The beach?" Dan got a grin on his face. "That's sounds fun, we can take my car." Phil nodded, "Okay." He bend down to grab his backpack and then looked at Dan, not really sure what to do. "Let's go." Dan said, while he put his arm around Phil's shoulders. And just like that they walked out of the school doors.
Dan
The car ride to the beach took a little longer than 20 minutes. Phil was silent almost the entire ride. Dan knew something was wrong, but Phil insisted he was fine. He didn't want to push him, so he just let him be for the time being. Dan noticed that just being around Phil made him feel warm inside. This boy did something to him, something that he had never felt before.
They arrived at the parking lot next to the beach. It was a windy day and of course a workday so there was nobody else there except for them. Phil got out of the car immediately, leaving Dan alone inside. Dan watched Phil walk of off the parking lot on to the beach. He walked for a little bit and then sat down in the sand, staring at the sea.
Dan took his keys out of the ignition and got out of the car to go after Phil. As he got closer he saw that Phil's shoulders were shaking. Dan slowly lowered himself next to Phil and sat down. He saw tears rolling down Phil's cheeks. Trying to comfort him he put his hand on Phil's back who then hissed in pain. Dan quickly pulled his hand back, "I'm sorry, what did I do?" he asked startled. "Nothing, it's nothing." Phil said in between sobs.
"What..." Dan looked confused at Phil and at his back. "Did... did he...?" Before he could finish his sentence Phil turned to Dan and let himself fall into his arms, crying loudly into his shirt. Dan tried to find his balance, startled by Phil's action. He put his hand on the back of Phil's head and neck, making sure not to touch his back. They sat like this for minutes long, until Phil calmed down a bit.
Phil slowly let go of Dan and sat back up straight. He wiped away the last tears on his cheeks. "Talk to me Phil." Dan still had one hand in Phil's neck as a comfort. "What happened?" Phil pulled his legs into his chest, burying his face between his knees. "The coach called my dad, told him that I quit." he whispered, so soft Dan could hardly hear him. "Did you tell him that Spencer forced you?" Phil snorted and shook his head, "he didn't even give me a chance." he lifted his head up. "Not that it would have mattered if I did tell him, he'd probably think even less of me."
"Can I...?" Dan slid his hand down Phil's neck softly on to his back. Phil nodded. Dan grabbed the bottom of Phil's shirt and slowly lifted it up, exposing his back. At the sight of the wounds Dan clasped his hand in front of his mouth out of shock. Five large purple stripes went across Phil's back, all ending in a open wound. "W-what... How?" Dan stuttered. "He used his belt." Phil said softly.
Dan let his fingertips slide over the wounds, applying as little pressure as possible. Phil felt tingles all the down his spine by Dan's touch, causing him to breath loudly. Dan lowered his hand sliding towards Phil's waist. Still only touching Phil's skin with his fingertips Dan went around Phil's waist, slowly towards his stomach. Both hands went around and met on Phil's stomach. Dan rested his head on Phil's shoulder blade, closing his eyes.
"I'm so sorry Phil." he whispered. Phil was still breathing powerfully, feeling Dan's hand on his bare stomach. Somehow being held like this made him feel better, stronger. His pain faded away slowly and they sat like this for what seemed like a life time. Neither wanting to move.
