"Where did you go?"

I stop on my tracks as soon as I heard my mother's voice. Her eyes were anxious and I couldn't help but feel guilty. I thought that they won't even remember or show their concern in me, considering the fact that I've been out of their life's for a decade.

"Just...met up with an old friend"

She looks like she wanted to reprimand me but decided not to do it. She finished folding the clothes (owned by Arianne) in a neatly way. I turned around and was supposed to go to my little sister's room when a voice rang out.

"Rose? Is that you?"

I immediately stiffen and turn around. Purely shocked by the person I'm looking, I almost trip myself due to the smooth marble tiles, I run.

Run towards them.

"Oh my gosh it's really you! How are you, no wait I already know the answer just by looking at your eyes"

"Hello Rose, nice seeing you here"

Evan and Richard.

One of the few people the I have missed beside my family. I didn't think that the three of us would met. Their eyes showed happiness and anticipation, no remorse or coldness. I wonder why?

"I'm fine thanks. How bout the two of you?"

They look at each other and smile. Their love was so transparent that I couldn't help but feel giddy around them.

"We're fine. Stronger than ever. Four years of married and still counting"

"Wow! I mean....that's so great. Finally, one of my wishes come true"

They just shook their head while laughing, while I was smiling there foolishly staring at the two of them. Even though, it's already theodern days and people can have their own preference and all, I know that they suffered a great deal of stress.

People doesn't like different.

They wanted people to be the same as them. Norms and traditions that's been passed all over generation. The way people think and a t upon change was uncertain. For the two of them, Evan and Richard, to stay in love, it's a miracle.

I wish I have that too.

"-se, Rose! Are you listening?"

"Huh? Uh...yeah.....yeah I am"

His face was displeased and I suddenly have the urge to laugh. Richard hasn't changed, he still doesn't like people he's conversing with dozing off at him.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I'll visit the two of you tomorrow if you want"

"Finally! We've been sending you invites for our twin's birthday for years yet you haven't said anything. Why can't you come?"

Guilt consumes my entire being. I do want to tell them but decided not to, it's not gonna make it easier. It will trouble them and I don't want them to be pulled into this hell hole I've experience.

"Grandma's making me practice my skills, which means no distractions"

"Is that so, anyways I really hope you could come tomorrow. Our family will be there, fortunately you came at the right time. We will be celebrating our twin's 5th birthday. Don't think about not coming. I will definitely drag you if you didn't come"

He threatened me with his fingers wagging in front of my face. I just nod until I could feel myself get dizzy. But something's off, if our relatives are there, then it means.....

He will be there.

"Are you okay, you seem pale"

"No I'm okay, just a bit shaken up by the wind. I'll come don't worry"

Evan pats me in the back as they said their farewells. I, on the other hand was conflicted with emotions. I don't think I can restrain myself on behaving tomorrow.

He'll be there smiling gently at everyone, acquiring about their life and all that shit. The people will admired him for his steadiness and calmness, him being a gentle man and friendly, but in other cases, he's just a devil wearing one of his masks.

And I can't wait to rip it off his face.
