Pidge came bolting through the café door, the bell shook quickly. " Lemme see the dress!" Hunk leaned over the counter impatiently.
She pulled out a beautiful green dress, one Hunk had never seen before. It was a bit out of Pidge's style, but he could tell she would look perfect in it.

"You like it?" She asked, the bell behind her was ringing. "Of course! It's pretty." Matt looked for Hunk's approval. "Y-Yeah, it's cute." He could just imagine how beautiful she would look. "Just cute? You should've seen her in it!"
Lance winked at Hunk, who was still thinking.

"Well, we all need to start getting ready. Lotor's place is an hour away." Pidge insisted, grabbing the dropped shopping bag from the floor. "Yeah," Lance agreed, taking her knapsack from her back. "Meet at my place!" Pidge smiled, the little bell ringing again.

"Do you think Shiro is going to be there?" Lance asked Matt just as he was about to walk out. "I don't know, but dress as if he is." Matt teased shallowly. Lance just looked to the side and softly inhaled. "Hey, Lance." Hunk called him over.

"Yeah?" He said, playing with his little hairs.
"You think I should ask Pidge out?" He genuinely asked. Alarms went blaring in Lance's head. This was his chance to be a good friend. "Go for it, buddy! It'll be great, I bet she'll say yes!" Lance encouraged, but Hunk still had his specific doubts.

Like, what if it just ruined their friendship?
"Thanks, Lance. But, I don't want to end up like those people in movies who are neighbors and they try to date but it doesn't work out." Hunk sorted some money out into the cash register. Lance leaned on a convenient table that was nearby, shaking his head slightly and clicking his tongue.

"Uh Hunk, we aren't in a movie." Lance crossed his arms, looking straight at Hunk.
"I know we aren't, it's just that-" Hunk pouted suddenly. "It's just that Pidge is different. I don't know if she would want to date me. I could understand anybody else, like you o-or maybe even Lotor." Hunk finally got it out, thankfully nobody was around to hear it.

Lance stopped, then chuckled. "Me? What the hell, Hunk? You're better than me and Lotor combined! Plus Shiro, add Shiro in there too. You're better than all three of us, man!" Lance beamed brighter than the hot and blazing sun.
Hunk's face reddened. "Thank you, Lance." He simpered, then looked up.

"Maybe I should try to get Pidge." Hunk's nose crinkled in thought. Lance nodded, looking at his invisible watch. "Let's go meet them at Pidge's House, Alright?" Lance ushered, guessing Hunk thought about closing early.
Hunk shrugged, walking around the counter to go flip the sign.

Pidge and Matt had already walked up a few blocks, almost reaching their house.
"So, Hunk tells me that you want to buy a dorm?" Matt cleared his throat nonchalantly.
"Uh, Yeah." Pidge quietly answered him.
Matt looked down at his little sister.
"You know how dad is, Pidge. After what happened between me and him, and that whole situation by itself, I'm afraid he won't let you go." Pidge's face paled as the words came out of Matt's mouth.

"H-He's not letting me go to Arbor at all? Just because you bought a dorm without his permission?" Pidge blanched angrily.
"It's so much more than buying my own dorm without his permission, Katie! He didn't even know I went out of town, he thought I ran away. He thought that I would leave you and mom. The whole town was looking for me, Kate. The whole fucking town, do you know how horrible I felt?" Matt screeched to his sister, who was on the verge of throwing a tantrum like a six year old.

"I'm not you, Matt! I'm Katie Holt, not Matthew Holt. The whole town isn't going to go looking for me. People aren't going to die, because I skipped town to run away to Arbor." She looked to the side, and frowned.
"I know, Katie. I know you wouldn't of let her get hurt if you had the chance to save her." Matt also frowned, looking at the ground ahead of him.

"I miss mom. I want her to come back, maybe she could've talked some sense into dad. I mean, Hunk and Lance are going to be bummed when they hear I can't go. I have the brains, I'm not that bad at socializing. Allura's just going to steal them, like stealing candy from a baby." Pidge scowled, folding her arms.

"You're really attached to them, aren't you?" Matt put a hand on her shoulder, then she nodded up and down. "We've known each other since birth, I mean..it's going to be hard to stay away from them." She retorted to Matt, turning away grumpily.

"You don't have to stay away from anybody. They'll always be there." Matt reminded as they walked up a few steps. "What if dad's home?" Pidge tip-toed up to see the peep hole.
"Whatever. All I'm here to do is get my stuff that I left here yesterday, and leave. I'm going to Lance's house after. Meet me there-" Matt was cut off by a short shriek.

"Dad is home!" She ducked down, as if that would do anything. "Katie?" He opened the door to see Matt's ponytail hanging from his right shoulder. "Matt," Their father began.
Pidge swooped in quietly while her brother and father talked. She was hungry. Really hungry.
She opened the fridge, which made a creaking sound, and took the whole jar of peanut butter.

She went to grab other elements like shoes to wear to the party. Matt stared longingly at his dad. "Dad, look. I'll be out in a second, I just left my computer here." He shrugged pass him.
"Why couldn't you ask Katie to bring it for you?" He held the door open.

Matt looked up with hurtful eyes. "Because Katie wanted me to come, and I did what she wanted me to do." Matt held his computer in his folded arms. "So now you're staying over during the day, when I'm not here?" Sam pushed Matt back just as Pidge was coming down the stairs.

"I told you, it's not like I sleep here." Matt rolled his eyes, trying to get by. "Colleen, your own mother, would not be proud of you! You're the reason she left, Matthew." Sam squinted angrily. Matt hung his head, then chuckled.
"Did you ever think that maybe you're the reason that mom left? You aren't home to take care of Pidge half of the time, so she comes with Lance to see me and Hunk at work. She pays half of the bills with my money because I want her to live here. I don't think mom would be proud of you either, dad." Matt turned back to see Pidge patiently waiting.

"Where are you going, Katie?" She had heard them downstairs, everything. The night Colleen said she was leaving and never coming back. The night she snuggled with Pidge and Matt in her bed. "I'm going out, have a problem?" She remarked like a smart ass. "Yes, I do. Go unpack everything from your bag right now." He ordered, but Pidge just looked to Matt who shook his head.

"I'm not unpacking, this is my stuff to sleep at Hunk's place tonight, bye dad." She proceeded onwards for the door, opening it and watching if Matt was behind her. Hunk and Lance were sitting on the steps, waiting. "Hey, I was starting to wonder why you guys where taking so long, then I saw Mr.Holt's car in the driveway." Lance semi-smiled.

"Matt, what are you wearing?" Lance's voice drained from her ears as Hunk spoke.
"Are you okay? You seem pale." Hunk crouched his head into his own neck.
"I'm fine, just thinking about mom again." She admitted subtly. Hunk softly breathed, patting her back gently. "She'll come back, she had no choice but to leave." He whispered lowly, quiet enough for Matt and Lance not to hear.

"I know she didn't. But my dad, he's being a pain in the ass about Matt. His own child, his very first child." She sighed, looking at Hunk. He looked back at her, and smiled widely.
"We can talk about it more tonight." He insisted on it.

// Hey, are you liking the story? I'm so sorry Keith hasn't come in yet! The Lotor party was supposed to be shorter than this, and I don't want to make the chapters too long. Anyways, thanks for reading everybody!
