"Good morning, Rachel." Matt smiled, waiting with his troubled little sister and their happy neighbor wearing yellow. "Good morning, Matt, Pidge, and Hunk." She smiled back in return. "Where's Lance?" Pidge asked, holding her greenish-teal binder to her chest. "He got up at around seven this morning, he has a date in about an hour." Rachel informed her brother's friends.

Hunk and Pidge shared a gasp. "You have to be kidding!" Hunk denied, and Rachel shook her head. "No, I'm being completely truthful." Rachel glances up at Matt, who seemed to be listening in. "Who's it with?" Pidge asked, hoping Rachel would spill the tea.
"With a nice boy named Keith. Ebony colored hair, violet eyes. He implies that he's a good-long term friend. They were laughing and teasing each other since I got there." Rachel mentioned slyly.

Hunk and Pidge exchanged looks. "No freaking way! Keith, our Keith, Hunk. The one that I met at the coffee shop," Pidge smiled fondly, looking up at her best friend. "That's good for Lance. Keith's a nice person. I hope..." Hunk crouched his head into his own shoulders.

"I have ambition for this couple, and I will strive to make them official!" Pidge cheered, skipping ahead of her brother and friends.
Matt and Rachel shared a secret laugh, and Hunk sighed. "That Girl." He mumbled.

"I remind you, that's your girl." Matt emphasized.

...

Lance hung his head, waiting for his friends to arrive. His feeling of trust and love to that group was what he relied on to have any sort of confidence. Without them, he was an insecure little blind bat.

He stared out the window, the sunny streets showing that people were still in the mood for summer. The shop was closed, but Lance always had a spare key, in case of emergencies.
He'd already made about four and a half cups of just plain coffee with no creamer. His nerve wreaking, paranoid, insecure mentality kept him up all night. He was just worrying, he'd call his nephew and nieces to come sleep with him, and that's how he finally fell asleep.

All his mind could think:
"What if you're too obvious, or your some serious next level stalker?"

"What happens if you say something stupid or unfunny? I need to plan this whole conversation out in my head."

"Will Hunk and Pidge make it awkward for me? What if Rachel's watching?!"

So yeah, anxiety sucks.

The bell rang from the unlocked door, Hunk entering to take off the alarm. Pidge set her binder down on the table that Lance was at.
"Good morning, Mr.I have a date." Pidge wore a shit-eating grin. Lance's embarrassed eyes shot to Rachel. "Sorry, I figured that you told them already." She shrugged, Lance seeing through her lies.

"Keith, huh? Taking a hit on the new boy already, Lance?" Matt teased, ruffling the boy's straightened hair. "Matt!" Lance hid his head in his arms. "It's fine, Lance. It's just a date." Hunk called from further in the kitchen.
Lance groaned. "It's not a date. Just two friends meeting." Lance insisted on this specific word. What was it, oh. 'Friend.'

"And now they're friends!" Pidge playfully shouted to Hunk, who gasped exaggeratedly.
"I've been replaced!" He laughed, fixing Matt a coffee with hazelnut creamer,  Pidge, Lance, and himself different flavors of bubble tea, and Rachel green tea.

...

Twenty-five minutes later, the long awaited boy named Keith showed up. Pidge disguised her self without her glasses, giving them to Matt. She wore a headband, and Rachel's choker. Yeah, Pidge was next level creepy stalker. Rachel and Matt sat in the far corner, having their own conversation, though they expected to listen in for a few minutes.

"You look cute with glasses on." Rachel gazed at the rounded glasses that he wore. "Thanks." He blushed. Something about being around Rachel was so exciting for Matt. His memory flashed to when him and Rachel were only kids. "Don't you remember when these were mine?" He chuckled, adding the comment. "Yeah. You look identical to your twelve year old self." She smiled, giggling.

...

"Hey Keith." Lance greeted. "Morning." He said, sitting across from him. "So,-" Hunk politely, and purposely, interrupted the two.
"One black coffee, and one blueberry bubble tea." He set down the two drinks. "Oh, hi Hunk." Keith smiled up at the boy who only waved and rushed away.

"He's nice." Keith stated. Lance nodded.
"So, I hear some rumors that you're going to Tulsa-High, is that true?" Lance acted incoherent, but on the inside he was praying that Keith confirmed Pidge's words.
"Yeah, you are too, right?" Keith took a sip of the correct coffee order. . . That he didn't even order.

"Yeah. My standards are too low to go to Arbor." Lance didn't want to complain, but it just came out. He attended to self gossip often. Keith's eyebrows lifted. "You're not stupid or dumb. I could tell by your personality. Arbor just has high standards." Keith complimented. "Heh, thanks. But, I bet you're smart too. Probably on Pidge's level of smart." Lance honored. Keith blinked. "I don't think anybody is smarter than that girl. She told me she has her own coding system and everything." The boy shrugged.

Silence passed for awhile. "I can't believe that school starts tomorrow. Have you gone shopping for school supplies?" Lance wondered. "Yeah, I did with this girl. She offered, and I said okay. Her name's Allura. I'm guessing you know her?" Keith figured that everybody knew everybody, Altea wasn't the biggest town. Being the new kid, he took as many opportunities to meet new people, and possibly make friends.

"Of course I know Allura. Though I haven't seen her since last week." Lance frowned, memory flashing back to that day.
"Bad history?" Keith simply questioned.
Lance hummed in response. "You mind explaining?" Keith asked, intrigued by his new friend's ways.

Lance smiled softly. "Sure."

...

Pidge took notes, running back and fourth to Matt and Rachel, who read it over a couple of times. Matt and Rachel talked, too. About her breakup, especially.

"Gabriel was apparently cheating on me." Rachel looked to the side, swallowing. Matt's jaw clenched. "You say apparently, how do you know for sure?" Matt wondered aloud.
"Veronica saw him and this girl. . . I can't remember her name, but she was intimidating. Even for Veronica, the master intimater." Rachel answered with concern, she was concerned about this girl for sure. She hadn't stopped thinking about it.

Matt nodded along slowly. "Uh, how are you? You know, with the pregnancy and stuff. I know it'll be hard without your boyfriend there to help." Matt was more than willing to help. It was in his nature to be caring and kind, especially towards his friends and only piece of family he had left.

"It's been an easy pregnancy so far, I don't have morning sickness, nor afternoon sickness. I plan on telling Lance in the upcoming days." Rachel reaches for Matt's hands, holding them.
"Thank you. Thank you for keeping my secret, even though I know how close you and Lance are." Rachel squeezes his hands very gently.
Matt smiled. "No problem." He squeezed her hands softly in return.

"You mind if I stay the night? Pidge called me this morning telling me that your dad didn't come back since last night. I don't think he'll be coming back, so I was wondering—for Lance's sake, too. Our mom doesn't want Lance staying by your guys' house when Mr.Holt can pop up any moment. I could just grab Lance and go if it ever comes down to that situation—" Rachel's rambling was interrupted by her friend that sat across from her.

"Of course you can, Rachel."
