Lance was disgusted with waiting and waiting.
It was getting boring. Something Lance despised was boredom itself. He tapped his foot along the wooden steps. Pidge and Hunk hadn't come out to check on him since the incident, which was a half hour ago. Matt and Rachel were nowhere to be seen. Lance didn't want to take the chance of being spotted by Sam if he went back in.

His phone was on it's last 10 percent, and he didn't want to use it in case of an emergency.
Samuel [Lance and Veronica's uncle], Veronica, Mateo, Sofia, and Valerie went out to some fun amusement park earlier that afternoon, and haven't returned since.
Camila [Rachel, Lance, and Veronica's mother] went to the mall with their grandfather. His abuela and abuelo from his father's side were rarely taken about of the nursing home.

Then there was Lance's father. Andre, was his name. He used to work day and night, barely had a break. He unfortunately passed three years ago, from a mental exhaustion. Anyways, enough of sad hours. Lance whistled to a newly written song that he'd practiced on his ukulele.
The streets were empty, except for the one boy that passerby the Serrano, or McClain, household. "Loverboy!" The boy called from across the street. Lance squinted at the familiar face.

Lance took a minute to figure out if the boy was talking to him or not. He thought so, because there was nobody else on the street. "Uh, Hey!" Lance waved unknowingly. The boy jogged across the street, his hair in a ponytail.
"What? You locked out or something?" The boy put his hand on his hip. "Mullet boy! I knew it was you. . ." Lance scratched the back of his neck. "The name's Lance, by the way. If you keep forgetting." Lance added, scoffing.
Keith blinked. "I have you know that my name isn't 'mullet boy' either." Keith shot back a relatively sassy look.

"So, you gonna tell me why you're out here by yourself?" Keith crouched to Lance's level, being he was sitting on the steps. "No," Lance denied. Keith rolled his violet eyes, mumbling something. "You sure you remember me?" Keith asked, now sitting next to the 'loverboy'.
Lance nodded. "Of course!" Lance softly giggled. "What are you doing out here, wandering the streets at ten o'clock?" asked Lance.

"Well, I'm actually just. . . walking. I do that a lot. I like walking. It's fun. Well, not fun but—" Keith shook his head, then chuckled under his breath. "I was walking." He answered. "Why? I rather go for drives." Lance argued. "You don't feel the cold wind through the glass window, do you?" Keith muttered. "Um, there's something you can do to roll it down!" Lance laughed. "It's not the same!" Keith giggled along.

Pidge and Hunk peeped their heads out the balcony to see what the other voice was.
It was Mr.Mysterious, Keith Kogane. Takashi Shirogane's abandoned partner in crime.
Hunk and Pidge had been talking, figuring Lance would've known that Sam left the house, and that he would enter on his own. That never happened though.

Matt and Rachel could be heard laughing from downstairs, as well. "Matt, you are quite the hotshot, I might say myself." Rachel looked down, smiling. Hotshot. Allura. Lance. The kiss. Pidge. Keith. Coffee. School. School Supplies. Fire. Fire pit. Broken. Matt gasped, getting a affirmed look from his friend.
"Are you Alright?" She asked.

"Hotshot. I-It just brings up some memories." Matt sheepishly smiled. "Oh, that's um—what's her name? Alice? No, no. Allura! That's her nickname for you, right?" Rachel seemed so curios, and it was so genuine. Matt liked that. Matt loved that quality of a person.

"Yeah, it is. We had a falling out recently. Well, not me—but my sister. She never uh, she dislikes Allura to an extended amount." Matt commented. Rachel's eyebrows lifted. "Right." She nodded. "You know, Matt. This has been really fun. We should hang out more often." Rachel smiled softly, holding his hand slightly.
Matt was practically having a panic attack.
"Uh-um, sure. It's been nice spending time with you, Rachel." Matt blushed a shade of deep rose red.

Rachel herself turned pink. "Oh. Yeah, yeah. I should go, you don't need me, right?" She asked reassuringly. "You can go if you like. We'll talk tomorrow. But Uh-question before you leave." Matt played with the strings on his hoodie. "Shoot." Rachel said, grabbing her phone from the counter. "You have a boyfriend, right?" Matt nervously asked. Rachel laughed.
"Let's just say that things between Gabriel and I didn't work out so well." She frowned. "Oh. We can talk about it tomorrow." Matt smiled as bright as a diamond.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Rachel." Matt saw her out. Rachel fondly beamed at the boy, then hugged him. "Good luck with your father, Matt. And tell Pidge that I'm very proud of her. Oh, and—" Rachel stopped in front of the door.
She tip-toed to Matt height, and kissed his cheek. "I'm proud of you too, Mr.Hotshot." She whispered. Matt couldn't even smile, he was broken. Like literally, he couldn't move.
"Bye!" Rachel waved, rushing down the steps.

"B-Bye.."

...

"So you got super drunk all on your own!" Keith retold. Lance laughed, shaking his head. "Not possible, I remember clearly that you made me drunk. You, Mullet!" Lance tried to contain his laughter as he saw Rachel approaching their house. "Hello boy-s. Lance, who's your friend?" She asked, getting her keys out from her little bag. "This is Keith, the boy I met at the party. I told you about him, didn't I?" Lance insisted.

"Actually, Pidge and Hunk told me about him." Rachel winked. Lance squinted. "Keith, meet Rachel. My older sister." Rachel smiled. Obviously, Keith smiled in return. "That's my cue to get the hell out." Keith whispered.
"I'll see you—Wait. You wanna go for coffee tomorrow?" Lance politely asked, half nervous. What was this feeling, this pit in his stomach? His heart aching, his mind paranoid.
His face looked troubled. But Keith's expression only softened.

"Whatever you say, Loverboy." Keith winked.

Lance blushed, smiling downwards. "So, at Hunk's café?" Lance hoped. This feeling of hope and excitement was so brand new, but Lance liked it. He enjoyed it. It was nervous-happiness. It was nice to feel a rush of liking somebody again. Wait, did Lance like Keith?

Rachel awkwardly gazed at the two, acting as if she wasn't there.

"At Hunk's café, 12:00 p.m. on the dot, Loverboy. Don't forget!" Keith sped off in a matter of seconds. Rachel blinked a few times, staring at her brother. She hugged him, blew kisses his way. Lance just stood there in silence, once in a while he shoved Rachel off gently. "Do you know what this means?" Rachel held his shoulders. Lance shook his head, implying that he didn't know at all.

"My baby brother has a date!"
