The whole night I looked through these folders. I found some more stuff I didn't even understand. Hershel explain things he got, but nothing besides that. Rick kept walking around the fence i had closed up making sure it wouldn't budge. Daryl was standing on a turned over bus keeping guard while everyone else ate food.

"There." I pointed at a page that had scribbles. "We missed that one."

"Serum 5A." Hershel whispered. "Black liquid, designed just for project A. Use small doses when injured. It repairs the system and strengthens you more. More difficult to kill. Also when all is gone, you can never die. You will be different. Which means that serum changes you every time you inject it into your body. We don't know those affects." He frowned. "They tested it after the outbreak, you can't turn into a walker when you get bit or scratched."

"So she's basically unstoppable?" Glenn leaned over.

"Pretty much." Hershel nodded. "There's a lot here I don't understand though. We need a scientist."

"Yea, we will just go ask a walker if their smart enough." Glenn scoffed.

"Whatever happens, you have to keep these files close to you at any cost." Hershel instructed. "Never lose them. Always, and I mean always keep them with you."

"You got it." I took the folders and stuffed them back into my bag. "I need a smaller bag."

"Considering you don't eat or drink." Lori chuckled. "I agree."

"Beth, sing us a song." Hershel whispered. "The parting glass."

Beth started singing which drew everyone into the group. We all sat there listening. Maggie joined in and it was a peaceful night, besides the walkers on either side of the fences.

"I know you're all exhausted, but we need to push into the prison." Rick sighed. "We can make this place safer and call it home."

"I agree." I raised my hand. "We can do this, if we stick together."

Rick nodded and got up walking back up to the fence I had closed earlier.

Daryl sat down on the ground beside me and sighed. "You good?"

"I am." I nodded. "You?"

"Yea." He looked at me with a grin.

Carol looked kind of jealous that he was sitting with me and not her. "I think your girlfriend over there is mad." I nudged him with my elbow.

He chuckled and pushed me with a finger. "She's not my girlfriend."

"You might wanna let her know that." I laughed. "I got watch. You get some rest."

I got up and scuffed up his hair walking to the bus he was at.

*******

Everyone was up and down all night, restarting the fire or using the bathroom. I sat on the bus watching the sky. Zeb curled up beside Lori to keep her warm. He's gonna be very protective over that baby, that's for sure.

"Mornin'" A redneck voice called from below me.

"Hey." I whispered. "Need help up, or do you got it?"

"You're just dying to touch me again, huh?" Daryl joked.

"Maybe." I shrugged laughing.

He grabbed the bus hinges and crawled up, sitting beside me. Our arms were nearly touching. Daryl was different from the others, he had his emotions off and he never got close to people. But he was close with me.

"Rising sun, it's beautiful." I whispered.

"Yea." He looked at me and squinted. "It is."

"You are too." I elbowed him.

He laughed and scoffed. "Nah. But thanks." He nudged me with his arm. "You are too by the way."

"Hey!" Rick shouted. "We're bout ready to go in."

"Got it boss." I stuck my thumb up.

Him Daryl started laughing then Rick walked away to get everyone who was going in ready.

"We better go." Daryl nodded.

I nodded in agreement and followed Daryl climbing down the bus.

We got with T, Rick, Glenn and Maggie and made our way inside the fence to the prison.

"Stay in formation, Don't let them break in." Rick shouted.

We stayed in a tight circle knocking down walker after walker. We had to drill the walkers with helmets and armor up through their jaws. We finally closed the gate to a smaller area where a bunch of walkers were hiding.

When the yard was clear, Rick pointed out the regular clothes some walkers were wearing. "There's a breach somewhere inside. We need to push in. Clear a block."

The rest of us agreed and followed Rick into the building. We cleared our way through to a cell block. We had to close off doors so no walkers could get into the cell block we were clearing. When all was done, we headed back outside and led the rest of the group inside. Night has already begun to fall.

"We each get our own cell." Rick mentioned. "The doors are all locked on this side, I have a set of guard keys, so does Daryl."

"I ain't sleeping in no cage, I'll take the perch." Daryl shouted.

"I don't sleep, so I'll keep watch." I shrugged. "I know Zeb will stay with Lori."

I noticed Rick was pulling away from Lori, I get why. But she is pregnant, unfortunately she didn't know whose baby it was. That must really hurt Rick.

"We will clear other blocks tomorrow, and hopefully find the cafeteria and infirmary." Rick nodded. "So for now, everyone find your cells and rest."

Everyone entered into a cell with their stuff and made their beds. I sat on the steps leading up to where Daryl was laying watching both doors while Rick sat on the floor against the wall. Everything seemed peaceful, and safe. For now.

"You not gonna try to lay down?" Daryl sat behind me one step up.

"No." I shook my head. "I kinda of can't sleep."

"You should at least lay down and relax." He whispered.

"I'd rather not lay in a dusty smelly cell" I laughed.

"Drag a bed out of a cell and lay it up here with mine." He shrugged.

"Isn't that weird?" I chuckled.

"Not really." He sighed. "Come on, I'll help."

I got up and followed him into a cell and drug a bed out and laid it beside his, but left enough room between us. I laid down and stared up at the ceiling while he laid down and fell asleep.
