"So Allison." Deanna started. "Do you mind if I record this for my files?"

"Not at all." I shook my head.

"Good. Now I'm aware of your skills and your tiger." She smiled. "I definitely wanted you here when I heard from Aaron about you." She stood up and handed me a folder. "One of my scavengers found an old military base that had this there. It was locked up good."

"What is it?" I asked opening it. "Me." I scoffed shutting it. "I don't understand."

"Not yet." She shrugged. "They didn't grab everything from there. I can draw you map if you'd like."

I nodded my head. "Please."

She tore out a piece of paper from a notebook and scribbled down a map and directions. "This will get you there. Now, I wanted to actually talk to you. How are feeling with all of this?"

"It's different." I shrugged. "It's not bad. This place is pretty amazing."

"Daryl is a bit nervous." She chuckled. "I get it though, new place, new faces."

"He's not use to this."

"Neither are you. You woke up in a lab not knowing what was happening. You found people and they grew on you, just as you grew on them. Rick thinks of you as his daughter."

"He said that?" I raised my brow.

"He did." She nodded. "Can we count on you to protect this place and these people?"

"I guess so." I shrugged. "But only and I mean only if you need my help. Bad things happen I tend to lose control."

"I understand." She nodded. "I'll walk you home. I'm sure the others are settled already."

I followed her down the street carrying baskets of food and extra blankets and sheets. Deanna seemed nice, but she also seemed to know a lot about me.

We opened the door and walked inside where everyone was already sitting in the spots they were gonna lay down. "Here's your extra items." Deanna said handing the baskets to Rick and Michonne. "I like the new cut." She commented at Rick. "It suits you. And everyone sleeping together, smart."

"This will just take time getting use to." Rick smiled. "Thank you."

"Mhmm. Good night, and Allison? Please come see me tomorrow." Deanna said before leaving.

I turned to look at Rick and laughed. "Nice trim old man."

"A girl next door did it for me." He chuckled. "She said if anyone needs a cut go see her."

"Oh and Rick?" I grabbed his arm. "I think of you as a dad too."

His face lit up and smiled wide before hugging me. "She told you." He whispered.

"She did." I nodded. "Also she give me this." I slammed the folder on the counter making Eugene jump to his feet.

"Exactly what I need." He laughed looking through it. "Wow, Allison! You're from here. You were moved before the outbreak. They tried to destroy you with a nuke."

"That was why they dropped a bomb on Atlanta!?" Glenn looked shocked. "Whoa man."

"I have to go to the base." I shook my head. "There has to be more."

"We will go with you." Rick nodded. "We said we would help in any way we can."

"I think it's best that I do it alone. I can't have any of you dying or getting hurt." I rejected his offer.

"Allison." Michonne spoke up "We want to help you."

"I love you guys, but please let me do it alone."

"At least take Daryl." Rick motioned to the man who was asleep already cuddled with Harley.

"I'll talk to him." I nodded in agreement.

They stalked off to their places and laid down themselves. We have to get use to this, and I needed answers from Deanna. But while people sleep, I'll just walk the streets.

"Good morning dear." Deanna chirped walking to the bench I had sat down on. "How was your first night?"

"Sleepless like always." I shrugged.

"I know you don't sleep, eat or drink anything. But I wanted you to be the night guard. Also my son aiden is going on another run tomorrow, maybe they can go by the base for you."

"No, it's ok. I was gonna go." I studied the old woman's face and frowned. I remember a little about my mother, and she was nothing like this.

"How about your memories? Any luck with those?" She asked staring at me and frowning.

"I remember a little. I had two brothers. One died due to my parents trying this with him first, I still don't know the other."

"It'll come back." She placed her hand on mine and tapped it. "Now, excuse me. I have to make my rounds and get your group situated in their jobs." I nodded and watched at the old short woman walked off down the street. Maybe this place won't be so bad with a supportive person like that.

"Allison right?" A young man sat down. The same man we seen last night opening the gate. "I'm Spencer. Deanna's son."

"That's me." I smiled up at him.

"How are you holding up?" He sighed sitting beside me.

"Pretty good I suppose. This place is huge."

"My dad built the gates and finished the houses as best he could."

"Well he did good." I nodded.

"We are wanting to expand. Make it bigger for more people."

"Abraham would be good for building." I shrugged. "Ricks a cop, Daryl's a hunter. Of course Gabriel is a good priest." I laughed.

"My mom gave em all the jobs. Maggie's her assistant. I'm not really sure about the others though. But I hear your the night guard." He smiled like an idiot. "I guard at night too."

"I guess I'll see you tonight then." I shrugged. "Get rest, you'll need it."

I walked back down to the house we were all clumped up in. It was a peaceful place, and gorgeous and amazing. But the people always stared. I understand though, new faces and all. Plus a tiger.
