We were all pushing our way through to another part of the prison. Everywhere we turned there was new walkers emerging from somewhere.

"Stay in formation, aim for the head." Rick instructed the four prisoners.

When walkers got closer, the prisoners broke apart and just swung and connected with different parts of the walkers, except for their heads. So of course the rest of us had to jump in and help.

Rick scoffed and shook his head. "Stay close together, no more riot bullshit."

They were getting the hang of things now. They stayed together and aimed for the walkers heads. The big black prisoner broke off from the group and got scratched but a walker who pulled his hand off getting free from the cuffs it was wearing.

"Can't you just chop his arm off?" The skinny white prisoner asked.

"Turn, let me see." I grabbed his shoulder spinning him around. "We can't stop this. It's too far up to cut it off."

"You can't do anything?" The white prisoner screamed.

"No-" I was cut off by Tomas taking a hammer to the big guys head repeatedly. "Seriously!?"

"If you can't do anything then he has to die." Tomas shrugged.

"He wouldn't have died quickly like that." I scoffed. "I can't believe i supposedly even knew you."

"Get use to that thought, babe. Cause you did." He smirked.

"Gross." I muttered walking over to Daryl.

"You ok?" Daryl whispered.

"Yea. I'm good." I nodded. "Just want this to be over with so we can go."

He chuckled nudging me with his shoulder. "Ditto."

We finished pushing our way through into the laundry room. Clean sheets were stacked up and dirty ones were slung everywhere.

"Tomas, you get the door." Rick inclined throwing him the keys. "One at a time, we need to control this."

Tomas jerked one door but it wouldn't budge, then he got a twinkle and opened both letting every walker standing on the other side pour in. I noticed he kept looking over at Rick then back at the door. Tomas jumped behind a walker and pushed it at Rick after trying to swing his hammer at his head trying to kill him.

"Shit happens." Tomas shrugged.

When the walkers were cleared, Rick glared at Tomas who just smirked.

"I get it." Rick said. "Shit happens." Rick brought up his hatchet and sent it directly into Tomas's skull.

Daryl and T had the other two on their knees while Rick chased the one that ran.

We decided to let the other two, Axel and Oscar live in the cell block we helped clear.

*********

We went back to our cell block and explained the situation.

Hershel was still passed out in on his bunk with Maggie, Glenn, and Beth with him.

I didn't like to see people hurt. If I could I'd give him the serum to heal him, but it wasn't designed for that and I only have one more shot left.

Carl was somewhere in the block sulking. And Lori had Rick by the steps talking. Zeb was sitting at the door to Hershel's cell. Everyone was worried and exhausted by the events of today. It's all too much to handle.

I walked up the stairs and laid on my bed. I can't sleep but I'm exhausted.

"You ok?" Daryl walked up and had sat on his bed.

"I'm fine." I chuckled. "Exhausted."

"Ain't we all." He laughed. "It's been a big day."

"It sure has." I sighed.

He laid down and grabbed my hand squeezing it.

I looked over at him, he was staring at me. "Can't resist, can you?" I laughed.

"Not even a little bit." He started laughing. "I never told you I have-had a brother." He frowned.

"What happened to him?" I asked.

"Rick cuffed him to a roof in the city. T lost the key and Merle cut his hand off to get free." He chuckled.

"Damn. Harsh."

"Merle had it coming." Daryl sighed. "He's a bit of a hardhead."

"I'm sorry about your brother." I squeezed his hand.

"I'm sorry bout your boyfriend." He laughed.

I reached over with my other hand and punched his arm. "He's not my boyfriend."

"Might wanna tell him that." He chuckled holding his arm.

"I would." I laughed a little "but Rick killed him."

"That's true too." Daryl laughed lightly playing with my fingers.

We laid there from that point in complete silence. He held onto my hand and played with my fingers. It was weird. But I also come to believe I was in love with Daryl. And me? I was probably just a friend in his eyes.

********

Night had fallen outside so everyone was in bed or getting ready for bed.

Daryl hasn't released my hand and I was ok with it. You won't find me arguing over him touching me.

Carol walked up then walked back down with a frown on her face. She really liked Daryl, but he didn't like her that way.

She lost her husband, her daughter and Daryl was there for her. Anyone would've been.

Carol just needs to let go and move forward no matter how hard it was for her to.

Everything is different now, even though I don't remember my own life from before. I'm getting use to the idea of not knowing who I was.
