We drove back up the dirt road to the prison. There was walkers laying all over the ground and half the fence missing. On the ride home me and Michonne split up some stuff for the kids. Rick grabbed all of that and took it down to them.
"What happened here?" I asked stepping over all the walkers.
"They broke down the fence." Maggie said pointing.
"I'll get em." Michonne offered. "I'll take em out there and burn em."
"I'll help you." I said.
"I think you're in enough trouble." Michonne said nodding to Daryl and laughing.
"Why?" Maggie asked curiously.
"I didn't listen to Daryl." I shrugged. "I'm tired of taking orders."
"But you are carrying his child." Maggie frowned. "Better to be safe then get hurt and something happen to you or it."
"Maybe." I sighed. "But it's not fair."
"Life isn't fair. You of all should know." Michonne half smiled. "We just want you safe."
"I'm safe." I growled. "God, why does everyone tell me what to do with myself!?" I stormed off back inside the prison passing Rick.
"Allison?" He raised his brow. "You look mad. Why are you mad?"
"Everyone is treating me like a kid." I frowned sliding down the wall.
"How so?" He sat down beside me.
"I'm pregnant not fragile." I sighed. "I wanna help but no one will let me do anything."
"Well do you know what could happen to the baby if anything?" He asked.
"No." I shrugged.
"Then that's why." He chuckled. "I know it's hard, but hang on."
He patted my shoulder and left me alone in the hallway staring at the wall.
*******
I walked back outside to see Hershel and Michonne pull off with the load of walkers. Which means the meds got in our people. Of course it's not fair but, I can see why I had to stay here. The only person I didn't see was Carol. So I have to find Rick and see what was going on. Of course I found him in the garden.
"Rick." I called making him jump.
"Yea?" He asked turning around to look at me.
"Where's Carol?" I asked raising my arms.
"Oh, uh...I already told Daryl. But ok, she's the one who kiled Karen and David. I couldn't have her here. Could you?" He asked frowning.
"No. If Ty knew, he'd kill her. You did the right thing." I sighed.
"You think so?" He asked rubbing his forehead. "Because I'm not sure."
"You did the right thing, Rick." I nodded.
He smiled and started working on his garden again. So I walked back to the prison to check on things. Sasha was up walking around in the sick ward, Glenn was resting which was good. At least some are up moving around already.
"Hell of a difference." Daryl sighed leaning against the window.
"Yea." I nodded.
"I'm sorry I'm so hard on you." He muttered. "It's just I don't want anything to happen to you or that." He said pointing to my stomach.
"And you think I do? I'm just trying to do what I can for everyone." I frowned. "I'm trying to keep people alive."
"I know." He nodded grabbing my hand. "I love you." He whispered.
"Now you say it." I chuckled lightly. "I love you too."
"Yea, well its time for some rest. Everything seems to be ok for now. Come lay with me for a bit." He said pulling me behind him.
We curled up on our beds for a little bit, or until he fell asleep then I got back up. No point in laying down if I can't sleep. So why not walk around making sure everyone else was ok. Zeb was close to Judith, like always. That's one good thing. All the kids were eating and playing games or reading books. Beth was walking around making sure they were doing ok. Rick was back trying to fix the fences the best he could. Maggie was with Glenn. And ty was with Sasha. Bob was in the hall pondering over his drink.
"If it helps." I sighed sitting beside bob. "That's not worth it."
"I only wanted it for when things go quiet." He muttered.
"And it won't ever go quiet. We will make it through this, somehow." I nodded resting my hand on his shoulder.
"You know, I never said thank you." He chuckled.
"For what?" I asked raising my brow.
"When you Daryl and Glenn found me. You guys could've left me out there. Instead you brought me back." He let out a sigh.
"You were worth it, bob." I nodded. "Just remember that."
I got up and started to walk away until he handed me his bottle. "I don't need this." I took it and walked away back into the cell block where Rick was now sitting. He looked tired. Everyone was. So I walked back up to my bed and put the bottle above Daryl's head so he'd know bob hasn't touched it. Hopefully he'd find it inside to forgive him. Night was drawing in and everyone was going to sleep. Hopefully the sick would feel a lot better tomorrow. So until then I'll just here and watch them all sleep.
********
Everyone was rising early. Those who were sick were walking around checking on everyone else. But I did notice Hershel and Michonne never returned from burning the dead bodies.
"Have you guys seen Hershel or Michonne?" I yelled walking into the cell block where Daryl and Rick were sitting.
"Come to think of it, no." Rick shook his head getting up and grabbing his gun.
"We have to go find them." Daryl spoke up.
"No. You guys stay here, I'll go." I said raising my hand. "I'll be a minute."
"You can't go alone." Daryl interjected.
"I'll be fine." I argued. "You can't protect me forever."
"Allison!" Rick yelled. "Daryl right."
"You too!?" I growled. "I'm going and that's final!"
Before they could argue any further I ran from the prison and headed outside towards the gate. I didn't get far before seeing the guy Michonne was after parked below with a tank. Well this just interesting.
