"I have good news and bad news. Which one do you want to hear first?" Matty asks me.

"Hmm...is it really bad news?" I ask him, staring up at my ceiling.

It has been two days since Matty left. He comes home tomorrow night, and I am literally counting down the hours. This is hard. I haven't ever had him leave town while we were together. If he did leave, he took me with him. It was always for a vacation. Now, it's for work and it's weird not having him here. I fucking hate it.

"It's not like...terrible. But, I'm not happy with it and I am sure you won't either." He explains.

"Tell me the good news first."

"Okay, well we were able to find a really nice building right by the city. It's perfect. It's really close to all of these vegan restaurants, and I honestly love it. It's great." He tells me.

"Do you only like it because it's by a bunch of vegan restaurants?" I tease.

"Well, no. But, It definitely helps." He laughs. "So, here's the bad news..."

"Lay it on me." Honestly, his news probably isn't even a big deal.

"I won't be home Tomorrow like we had planned on. Kyler wants to go ahead and try and sign on this building, but we have to meet with a few more people before doing so. Some of them are potential investors. Plus, we need to see if we can transfer him to one of the Seattle banks. I told him that it was a bad idea to bank with a state local bank with all of the business that we do, but he wouldn't listen. So, that's going to take a bit of time. We can't really do all of that over the phone, either."

"Okay. But it shouldn't be too much longer, right? Probably like a day or two?" I ask. Okay, so he has to stay a few more days. Who cares. I can last two more days.

"Not exactly." He sighs out.

"Okay, how long?"

"Two and a half weeks or so...possibly three." He says.

My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach. Two and a half weeks? What the actual fuck.

"Three weeks?!" I exclaim, praying that maybe I just misunderstood this entire thing.

"I know, baby. It sucks. I really don't want to be here for three weeks. We are shooting for two weeks, but it will be at least two weeks. I'm so sorry." He sighs. I can practically see him running his hands through his hair now.

"What am I going to do for two weeks without you?" I mumble out. I want to get mad at him, but it literally isn't his fault. He can't control how long it takes to close a deal on a building. This is his business, and I can't be selfish right now.

"Well, Kyler was thinking that maybe you could hang out with Megan while we are gone? She is really bummed out about this. She doesn't do well without him. So, maybe you two can...I don't know. Keep each other company?" He suggests.

"Do you really think she would want to hang out with me?" I laugh out. I feel like if we hang out while our boyfriends are away, we are just practically babysitting one another.

"Yeah! She thought you were really cool. Plus, she is a really sweet girl." He tells me.

"Please keep her company! She gets lonely! She is upset and she isn't talking to me now!" I hear Kyler yell from somewhere in whatever room Matty is in.

"Please?" Matty asks again.

"I mean, yeah. That would actually be nice." I sigh. I can't help but be upset about this. Might as well reset my mental countdown, because Matty won't be home for awhile. "What about clothes? Didn't you only pack for the weekend? Do you have to come and get more clothes or something?" I ask, knowing that more than likely he wouldn't come all the way home just to pack more clothes.

"We went shopping and got a few things that will hold us over for the next few weeks. I'm so sorry, baby. I want nothing more than to just come home right now and see you again. This next few weeks are going to be complete fucking shit without you. If we knew that it was going to be this long, we would have just taken you girls with us. But, I did get you and Phoebe something while I was out. You're going to love it." He tells me, trying to make me feel better.

"You didn't have to do that. You coming home safe will be the only gift that I need." I tell him.

"Yeah, I know. But, I still wanted to get this for you. I really think you're going to love it.

I hear my phone go off, indicating a text message.

"Is that Megan?!" Kyler asks loud enough for me to hear him.

"How did you even hear that? Am I on speaker?" I laugh.

"Yes, you are. I'm sorry. I'm trying to finish these emails and kind of need both hands to type."

"If that's Megan, will you please tell her to call me? Or to...FaceTime me or something? Oh, and tell her that I love her and that I'm sorry!" Kyler rambles.

I look at the message and sure enough it is Megan.

"Yeah, it's her. She said 'Hey, it's Megan. Sorry our boyfriend's are assholes for leaving us here to fend for ourselves. Want to come over and hangout?' What should I say back?" I ask.

"Go over to the house! I don't want her to be alone and mad at me."

"I can't. I have Phoebe with me."

"Okay, so take her over there too?" Matty says like it's obvious.

"Do you think she will care?"

"No! Megan loves kids. Plus, she was head over heels for that girl. She would probably prefer if you brought Phoebe." Kyler laughs.

"Yeah, Meg loves kids. I keep telling Kyler that he needs to settle down and start having kids." He says, giving Kyler a hard time.

"Fuuuuck no. I am not ever going to have kids. Megan and I are fine at watching from a distance." Kyler laughs.

"Okay, well I am going to get my stuff and head over there, I guess. I'll call you later?" I ask.

"Of course. I love you, baby. We have a meeting later, but I will text you if I miss your call. Be careful." He says.

"Okay, I love you too. Bye." I say, hanging up.

I gather our things as we get ready to spend the day with Megan. I wonder if Megan is as upset about this as I am. Well, according to Kyler she clearly is. I guess we have that in common. I just pray that this won't be too awkward.

Okay, I had to do a little introduction to another chapter with Megan!!!! I'm so excited to have her back in the story. I swear, I could write about her for years and years and years. Her and Kyler are of my favorites. I think they have such a funny personality.

I hope you are all enjoying this story!!! The big reveal is just around the corner. Yikes. I'm so nervous for it! But, I'm super excited, too!
