Matty's POV

"I need the hotel room for the next four nights." I say into the receiver of my phone.

"I'm not sure if we can do that, sir." The woman on the other end tells me.

"Why not?" I ask, getting frustrated already.

"Because you only booked that room for one night, and we have already extended it once. I believe that another couple has already booked that room for the next week. I'm going to place you on hold while I look to see what's available. We might have to just switch hotel rooms." She informs me. I roll my eyes and squeeze the phone in my hand.

"Okay, that's fine." I say as I get put on hold. The annoying sound of their promotional waiting tone goes off in my ear.

"What did they say?" Candace asks when she sees me staring up at the ceiling in frustration.

"They put me on hold. They don't know if they have another room or not." I say. She chuckles and comes over to stand in-between my legs.

"You're really wasting your money on a hotel room. It'll be okay. Plus, we can always just have sex out on the beach." She says, raising her eyes in suggestion.

"As hot as that sounds, I don't think it's worth the time it will take to get all of the sand off of us. It would get everywhere. And, I do mean everywhere." I laugh.

She cringes at the thought and then leans down to kiss me. "I'm going to go down to the beach now. Hang up the phone and we will deal with it later." She tells me.

Instead of waiting on the phone, I do what she says and hang up. Almost immediately I get a call from Christy. I hold up a finger to Candace, indicating her to wait.

"Hello?" I ask, confused as to where her and Ben are even at.

"Matty! Hey!" She says cheerfully.

"Hey, Christy. What's up?" I ask when Candace looks at me with that impatient look she gets whenever I'm on the phone.

"I just wanted to see if you were by your mom right now." She tells me.

"Uhh...no. She's down at the beach with my dad. Why? What's up? Where are you guys? I thought you were supposed to be here?" I ask.

"Yeah, I had a house that needed to be staged for their open house. So, we got caught up with work a little longer than planned. I had told your mom we would be a day or two late, but then she told me that Daniel's family were there too?" She says in the form of a question.

"Yeah, they are here."

"Yeah, that's what I heard. But then I got a text from your mom saying that they were leaving later today, and that it was okay if we were to come on down anyways!" She says.

"Wait, what? I didn't hear anything about them leaving." I say, now very confused.

"Your mom texted me this morning to let me know. I guess it was a pretty last minute thing. But, I tried calling her back and she didn't answer. That's why I was calling you! If she's down at the beach, that explains why she doesn't have her phone. Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know that Ben and I got a flight to Florida, and that we will be there late tonight! Could you let her know?" She asks me. Relief washes over me when I hear that my family were going to leave today. Thank God! I know the reason, but I don't think I should tell Christy. Well, not right now at least.

"That's awesome! I'll let her know! See you later! Safe travels. Call if you need anything else!" I say, happily hanging up the phone once we say our goodbyes.
