"Ba't gising ka pa?" He asked the moment he appeared on the screen of my phone. He sounded worried. He's still wearing his round spectacles that looked so good with his dark tousled hair. I could see a window right behind him, cars and people passing by. I guess he's in a diner right now considering its currently lunch time in New York while here is already midnight.
"I want to talk to you...." I miss talking to you even if we talked hours ago. I smiled as I rolled to the other side of my bed, propping my face up using my elbow.
"Holy shit, Piper!" He suddenly gasped and suddenly closed his eyes shut.
"What?!" Nagulat ako sa kanya.
"Cover that up," aniya.
I looked down and immediately blushed when I realized that my cleavage was already showing. I ended the call and sat up. I didn't realize that I was wearing a black sando. I hurriedly put back the white cardigan I've been wearing all day.
"Sorry." I laughed off the embarrassment as I called him back again.
He sighed and smiled. I could see dark circles around his eyes but he doesn't look tired to me. "Matulog ka na. Diba may 7am class ka bukas?"
I squinted my eyes jokingly. "Why do you know?"
"I have your schedule." He smiled with pride. Oo nga pala, when the new sem started, he asked for my new schedule. He asked for it so that he would know when to video call. Gusto ko ngang sabihin sa kanya na any time pwede kasi willing naman akong tumakas sa klase para lang makausap siya kaso di ko nalang din sinabi, hindi pa ata kaya ng pride ko na malaman niyang baliw na baliw ako sa kanya.
"May gusto ka bang sabihin sakin?" tanong niya na para bang nangungusisa.
I shrugged as I smiled. "Wala naman. Are you busy?"
"Hindi ako busy." He said but I noticed that his expression suddenly changed. Like he's bothered about something. He doesn't look pissed but I could tell that he's holding something back.
He scratched his forehead as he looked behind him, like he's being all awkward all of a sudden.
"Apollo, you okay?" tanong ko.
"Yeah..." He smiled but it felt forced. "Wala ka ba talagang sasabihin?" tanong niya ulit kaya bigla kong naalala ang sinabi ni Cohen kanina. Shit! Yun nga pala!
Joe has a huge crush on Apollo. I should've thought about that when I first saw them together! The look of happiness on her eyes while she was with Apollo, the way she smiled to him! And the way she looked at him, that's how Braylee looked at Denver back when they were still together!
