I'm off on an adventure
To bear mountain
I went with friends
Frolicking on a river cruise
Drinking beer and eating bratwurst
Oktoberfest!
Up, up
The Hudson we went
For 2.5 hours
In gloomy, humid weather
Until the mountains
Trees
And jet skis greeted us
Disembarking
Hiking up steep, windy hills
Huffing and puffing
Rolling along
Brought us to a lake
Where my two friends
Decided after a nice
Carousel ride
We'd paddle boat around
I took up a steed
As Tanya did too
But my friend Inna
Decided a pooch will do
But hark a lark
The carousel too slow
Did only but whet our appetite
For what nature had to show
Ahoy Mateys!
Time to paddle around
As I was being chauffeured in background
We avoided lake traffic
And sat on idle just chatting
The water was warm but dark like matting
We photographed the woods, the people,
The trees, and the rocks
With a 7ft long selfie stick
We could even capture our socks
The day flew by quickly
Only 3 hours there we had
But Tanya and I bought natural honey
And back to the boat, we walked
Feeling sated, quite glad
As the boat tooted its horn
We were off back southbound
Drinking beer and enjoying
The breezy background
The return trip wasn't gritty
Doom and gloom lifted
So it was sunny and pretty
Returning to NYC
As tired as I was
I was too interested not to try
A chocolate restaurant
Driven there by Tanya's guy
And yum yum yum
Chocolate pizza with banana,
Melted marshmallows and a mojito
And then on multiple trains
I went home not feeling my legs
But with a big smile on my face
I went off on an adventure
