For many years
I was alright in the darkness
Driving, walking, eating
If it was just slightly dim
It'd be cool, no big dealThen something changed
My whole being turned
Dark to light
Now, if it's even a little gloomy
I switch on the lightDarkness permissible only
At night
When one sleeps
Daylight savings not a friend
Winter time, depressingI can face the sun
Without sunglasses many a time
Enjoy the rays of brightness
Wish they wouldn't dim
Gloomy, rainy days can only be obscured
By lights in the houseWhat changed?
What happened?
Some people can do both
I'm still a night owl
Darkness doesn't scare me
But I prefer the lightThe change occurred 40 months ago
Circa August 1, 2015
Rebirthday
I didn't put two and two together until
Many moons and suns laterBut ever since I started in remission
The daylight is more amazing
Then the nighttime
Even though the latter was a friend
Before hell occurredMaybe because in the day
In the light
I feel life
Alive
While night, darkness is a time
For rest
For sleepWhatever the reason
Lovely now are gold rays
Over black hues
I went from
Dark to light
