Welcome to Miami!
Where the sun shines
The sand glistens
And beautiful people
Highlight the beach

As a colorful parasail
Touches the blue sky
Reflecting off the crystal waters
Salt, foam, air, liquid paradise
With seagulls ever close

Lifeguard towers
Umbrellas lined up in rows
Along with towels
Colors of flavor
Each bunch different from the next
Abundantly pepper the beach

Humanity seen in all of its
Illustrious visages
Close and far
Some American
Others foreign

All here to enjoy the water, sand, and sun
In November, the season closest to winter
Where for many it is already very cold
In places called home

People-watching is such a guilty pleasure
Some are real characters
From chicks in thongs
Screeching youngsters
Men trying to outdo each other
With flamboyant water entrances
To the drunk bum, sleeping in the sand
Face down up close
Pretending he's this year's rare art form

When those wander to a spot like this
Always know
Colors of flavor
Will be all over every spectrum known
Besides, what other way can it be?
