Saw three large
Milestones
In my life
The first
January 31st
Sought 2 whole years since
I began my PhD
Where has the time gone?
I'm only 5 classes away
From writing my dissertation
20 classes in total without that
Which means I will be done with
All classes by the end of this year
The second
February 1st
3.5 years into remission from ME
After my August 1, 2015 miracle
So much to be blessed and thankful for
I'm G-d's child
The third
February 8th
29 years since my family and I
Immigrated legally to this country
From the USSR
From Belarus
I came to America at the age of 6
Not knowing the language
Or culture
Didn't know what this land could give me
It gave me a future
3 milestones
Back to back
To remember how thankful
I am for this life
Though hard, it's worth every breath
I'm blessed
To continue creating more milestones
Forevermore
