Graduation Party

After a lengthy fixe year process and plenty of missions, students, birthdays and so many other massive events in those years, Fred was finally able to accept his PhD. Of course in that time, Fred and Yang had another kid, a little girl named Amber. That and the rest of the family took form as well. Ember and May had a child, Wolfgang and an adopted daughter, Mocha. Oscar and Ruby had gotten together and had twins, Summer and Crimson. Honorary family also expanded. But that was a story for another time.

Currently, a five year old Stark was walking around the Scorch home in small dress shirt and pants. Today his father was graduating and as per ceremony, there WAS a big ceremony going on that allowed family invites. So, the whole family decided to come on in and support him. However, Stark wasn't to keen on the idea of dressing up. He had been pouty about it, but still went along with it.

Stark made his way down into his parents bedroom and saw his mother tying Amber's shows for her while she had a little yellow dress on. Yang herself was wearing a scarlet dress with their new family emblem on its side. She glanced towards Stark and gave the boy a warm smile as she kept up her task.

Yang: Hey kiddo. Everything ok?

Stark: Do I have to go? Why can't Uncle Isaac watch me?

Yang: Because your uncles and aunts will be there with us.

Stark: Will Mars and Night be there?

Yang: Sorry, sweetie. No they won't.

Stark: It's going to be so boring!

Yang: Well, it's a big day for your father! And yes, it will be boring, but show some respect. This is something he really cares about.

Stark: Can we clap when he gets it?

Yang: Unless they say no, then we are.

Stark: That will be fun.

Yang: Exactly. We can embarrass your dad in front of thousands.

Stark laughed a bit along with Yang. After the two calmed down, silence filled the room again. Feeling a bit more bored, Stark left the room as his mother began to play around a bit with Amber. Going across the living room to his father's office, Stark stepped inside and saw his father looking over a large holographic map. He could also see some people's faces along the edges of the map and different color lines along it as well.

Stark: Dad?

Fred: Huh? (Turns and smiles at Stark) Hey buckaroo. Mommy dressed you up nice.

Fred walked over and picked Stark up and placed him near his shoulder.

Stark: What's going to happen when you get this thing?

Fred: Not much.

Stark: Then why did you get it?

Fred: Well mainly for work. Your grandpa wants the best of the best so might as well be one of the best. That and also I can rub this in your mom's face.

Yang: (Loudly) I can hear you!

Fred: No you can't!

Yang walked into the room with Amber in her arms.

Yang: You're right! I can't! I just wanted to be included!

Fred: What else is new?

Yang: Well, you are now, Dr. Scorch. So that's something pretty neat.

Fred: Yeah, just like your anger issues.

Yang: I seriously hate you.

Stark: Are you two getting a divorce?
