Years had passed since Fred got that PhD. Since then, he was promoted to lead Signal's history department and continued his streak at being one of the best teachers in the school. It was even more fun however, to watch both Stark and Amber slowly grow up. Stark was currently eight, enjoying the tides of elementary school, third grade at the moment. Meanwhile, Amber was in pre-school, only at three years of age.

Currently, that was a bit unimportant. What did matter at the current moment was the weather and the possible negativity it could strike their nice home on Patch. During the spring months, heavy rainstorms were known to blow into Patch and towards Vale sometimes causing widespread destruction, other times, not so much. However, this seemed to be one of the storms that would just linger around the island and slowly make it's way to the mainland. As a result, a lot of damage and strength was built up and Patch would suffer for it.

As the storm began to move into the area, Fred had the TV on and onto the weather, watching and seeing the storm moving in along with Yang. Yang was watching the backyard, seeing the wind slam into the trees and made them sway to and fro. She took a sigh and walked back and crashed onto the couch and laid down, using Fred's lap as a pillow.

Yang: Time?

Fred: About another four hours. The heart should be here any minute.

Yang: Did you get everything lowered out there?

Fred: I got everything into the shed and the shed boarded up. Just like how you said it should be. Cushions are inside and everything should be ok out there.

Yang: Alright. Just double checking.

Unknown to them, Amber was sitting on the stairs, watching them and hearing their conversation. Being three and not understanding much of the world, Amber was usually conquered by fear when something big such as this storm was happening. She did have a huge fear of storms and this one didn't help much with that fear.

After hearing the news that the storm could be here for a few more hours and it wasn't even the worst of it yet really scared her. Then her parents and the news began to list off possible dangers and the things that were happening also wasn't really helping her at all.

Fred: Amber?

Amber opened her eyes and turned back from the stairs to her parents who are looking directly at her. She walked down the stairs and stopped at the base of them, holding onto her favorite stuffed animal, an old Beowolf toy given to her by her brother for her latest birthday.

Amber: Yes?

Fred: Everything ok, Sweetpea?

Amber nodded.

Yang: You sure? You want to spend some time with daddy and me?

Fred: Daddy and I. Use proper grammar.

Yang glared at Fred and leaned forward, crushing him underneath her breasts, using him to elevate her height.

Yang: Want to stay down here with daddy and me? (Amber nodded) Alright. Come on.

Amber ran over into the living room and climbed onto the couch between her mother and father. Yang picked her up and placed her on her lap and kissed the side of her head.

Yang: I love you.

More thunder and lighting went off and Amber cuddled up closer to Yang. Fred handed Yang the TV remote, got up and walked back to their rear sliding door. He looked out across their backyard and could see some lighting strike back near the mountains. A few more strikes landed a couple more miles west of them, scaring Amber even more.
