It was the second day of Signal Academy and things haven't been overly complicated. A few quizzes and projects were already assigned, stuff about summer readings and a wide variety of other topics was placed onto the table. Progressively though, Amber realized that Signal wasn't going to be the dream school she saw it as. However, she tried her best to play it as great. After lunch was over, her class had gym next with Gure Okami.
According to her parents, Gure was once a student at Beacon Academy and knew and studied alongside them both. So he, like many teachers, was also a huntsman. He also seemed like a fun loving individual. Regardless of that, he still seemed to be a man who expected the best of everyone in his class. After blowing a whistle, everyone in Class Scorch assembled on a line.
Okami: Alright kids. When I hit you, go to the other side of the court.
With that, Gure began to tap every other students shoulder and sent them down the way to the other side. Finally, the teams were set, 10 on 10, five guys and girls on each team. Mr. Okami simply walked into the middle of the court with a bag of balls and dumbed them on the middle of the area.
Okami: Listen up! Some of you have already began to learn about your semblances. Others not so much. But what do I care? That's a job of your homeroom teacher and your combat instructor. So, (looks at both sides before throwing the ball at a blonde boy named Aka) Play ball!
With that, the game began. Like normally, Amber hung back and waited for some of the balls to hit the wall. Other side of her was Amethyst who grabbed a ball. She glanced around and used her semblance, crystal generation, on the ball and threw it right at Amber. Amber was able to dodge and the entire court stopped and looked at Gure.
Amber: You can't use your semblance!
Amethyst: Says who?!
Okami: She's right. If you want to use your semblance, feel free to do so. Get some training in.
Silver: Isn't that a little unfair of those who don't have them?
Okami: The world isn't fair kid. I don't know what got into you for that conclusion. You want even playing field, then work harder and get that semblance unlocked.
Aka smirked and grabbed a ball and threw with his pyrokensis semblance. As it was about to hit Silver, Amber leapt in front of him and grabbed the ball and rolled along the ground. She tossed it up slightly and did a two foot kicked and sent the ball into Aka's chest, getting him out. Gure stood on the sidelines and smirked.
Okami: Oh? This is going to be a fun class.
Sapphire activated her semblance of form changing and changed herself into a puddle of water and moved towards the front lines. Another student, Set Chaac was able to see her along the ground and used his semblance of electrification to zap Sapphire out of her state and threw a ball at her. While Sapphire was hit and out, Set could not avoid Jasper Quartz hitting him in the back despite his speed.
As Amber stayed in the back, one of the Arcadia twins, Vella, ran past her and was able to grab two balls and throw them towards Ciel Nuage and Akarui Niji. Akarui was able to catch her's, getting Vella out but Ciel was also eliminated. Amber ducked underneath another inbound ball and threw it back towards her good friend Robin. Robin was able to evade and throw another ball back towards the other team, albeit very slowly.
Next to Amber was one of the class' jocks, Ore Arreis. He grabbed a ball and used his semblance to cover his skin in metal and threw the ball back, using his added weight as leverage. The ball threw across the court and hit Opal Vietor dead in the face, knocking her to the ground. Amber gasped a bit, more than concern for her best friend but was relieved when she got up and got off of the court.
