It had been two days since Amber and her classmates had finished their finals. She was sitting in her room with Opal, Sapphire, Robin, Silver and Raleigh, all playing video games, reading magazines or other things. Amber was on her scroll looking over recent crimes, all involving the different attacks throughout the world. From the attacks in Atlas with the Harkins family and the assassination of Dr. Arthur Watts to her honorary cousins Mars and Night Wukong finding the people who attacked Signal and...the same group who attacked her brother.
Amber sighed as she sat up on her bed. Silver landed down next to her on her bed. She looked down at him and he smiled in return.
Silver: Hey.
Amber: Hey.
Silver: (Sees her scroll) I'd really wished you stop caring so much about that.
Amber: About what?
Sapphire: Amber? You aren't still going on about that crap, are you?
Amber: Well...it could lead to important developments and-
Raleigh: The same investigation that got your brother's job taken away? Who nearly got us all killed?! So on and so forth! Amber, I love supporting you, but this is where I say stop and never bring it up again.
Amber: If there is any chance I have to help then-
Silver: Sometimes I gotta agree with Raleigh and this is one of those times.
Raleigh: Whoa, smartest guy in the room is agreeing with me. These really are the end times!
Silver: You need to stop Amber. You need to know what you're up against. And for us, we're clearly up against much better guys. For crying out loud, did you guys see what Damson has done not only to your father but to that Team from Mistral. Plus, the Indigo Gang is in league with them. Amber, that's a force we can't take down!
Amber sighs and closes her scroll. She leans on her arm, still thinking the situation over in her head.
Opal: Amber, take it from me. It wouldn't be worth it. Trust me. I think I know worth.
Sapphire: Is that why you hit Raleigh in the balls with your mace?
Opal: Yes.
Raleigh: Wow, not even hesitating.
The door suddenly knocked and slowly opened as Yang Scorch stepped into the room and smiled.
Yang: Hey kids. You guys want some dinner? It's getting pretty late.
Sapphire: Late? It's only 5:40?
Amber: Yeah. We usually have dinner around 5 or 6.
Sapphire: You guys eat way to soon.
Yang: ...Anyway...I was thinking some pizza would be nice? Anyone down for that?
Raleigh: I'm in!
Amber: Sure thing, Mom. Hey, where's Dad?
Yang: Oh...(chuckles) He's still at work. Gods love him. A lot of evaluations.
Opal: Mrs. Scorch, do you know when we should be getting our results back?
Yang: Sorry sweetie. No idea. I may have my ways around Signal's inner workings but I have no idea how that massive system works.
Raleigh giggled slightly to himself. Sapphire was quick to elbow him in the stomach to stop him.
Yang: Oh well. I'll call you guys when the pizzas gets here. Have fun, kids.
