Inside a small house, located somewhere near Mountain Glenn, a younger Ebony Brown is punching and kicking a punching bag within her bedroom. After a quick series of combos, the bag falls down to the ground and she smirks to herself. She grips her right wrist as a few scars are along it. She then glances over to a photo of herself and an older gentleman, her father. Suddenly, a door slams open from downstairs and Ebony clenches to herself. It was her mother.

Ebony's Mother: Ebony! Can you help me?

Ebony gulped to herself before walking out of her room and slightly down the stairs. As she crept down the stairs, Ebony's face was in total fear. She finally reached the bottom and looked around but not seeing her mother. As she scans the room, she cannot see her mother at all. Suddenly, she can hear footsteps running towards her. Ebony glanced to her left and gasped as her mother charged towards her with a metal pole.

Ebony rolled forward as the pole hit and broke some of the wall. Ebony's mother begins to go onto the defensive, back stepping towards the back of their house. Ebony finally blocks a strike with her forearms and attempts to kick her mother's leg. Her mother quickly moves back and kneels Ebony in the stomach. Ebony grips her stomach in pain. The metal pole then strikes Ebony across the face and hit her on the back of the head.

Ebony's Mother: Get up! I didn't train you this hard for this type of results!

Ebony's mother kicks Ebony in her stomach again and rolled along the ground. Ebony then began to get up and clench onto her stomach.

Ebony's Mother: As your mother, I am deeply disappointed.

Ebony: You're not even my mother!

Ebony's Mother: You're right! Because if she was here, she would be so disappointed in you!

Ebony glares up at her step-mother as she kicks Ebony in the chin again. Ebony rolled along the ground and slowly back to lean against the wall. Ebony's mother walks over to the girl and kneels down in front of her and hugs her. Ebony doesn't know how to react and also begins to hug the woman known as her "mother".

Her "mother" pulled away from her and yet had a stern look on her face.

Ebony's Mother: I've been reading up on your records at school. Quite the confident party goer.

Ebony: Only when I have to be!

Ebony's Mother: What does that mean?! You think you can't be confident here?!

Ebony: Sutekina!

Sutekina, now known as Ebony's step-mother, stood up and struck Ebony across the face.

Sutekina: You need to be confident EVERYWHERE! If you can be confident at school, then you should do so here!

Ebony cowards down to herself as Sutekina gets up and walks over to the kitchen and begins to cook. Ebony gets up and rubs her face with her hand, feeling the pain. As she walks to the stairs, Sutekina walks over and blocks her from moving up stairs.

Sutekina: Go outside the run the course a bit.

Ebony: I've already ran it three times today.

Sutekina: Well, didn't do good enough against me.

Ebony: Well, you're a professional huntress! And-and-

Sutekina: And nothing! You aren't anywhere good enough to beat me and so, you can't possibly think you're good enough to beat anyone else!

Ebony: You don't know that!

Sutekina: Then prove me wrong, you little weasel!!!

Ebony cowards away from the yell. She back steps against the wall. Sutekina then leans forward and hugs Ebony once again, keeping Ebony tightly in her arms. Again, Ebony does not know how to react.
