Family Get Together

Taiyang slowly pulls up to his home in Patch with his old car. He sighs a little as he steps out of the driver's seat with Fred getting out of the passenger seat and Amber getting out from the back. Taiyang sighs a little and stretches his back a bit as Fred steps out with Tai's bag and places it on his back. Amber walks beside her grandfather up to his house.

Taiyang: Gods I hate this. I'm sorry you two. I didn't mean to-

Fred: Tai, don't worry about it.

Amber: Yeah. It gets me out of Dad's car so I could actually have a safe ride home.

Fred: Excuse me?

Amber giggled a little as Taiyang laugh.

Taiyang: Still. I'm getting too old for this. I can't leave lift my own bag because of this damn back.

Amber: But you can still take a punch with 2 tons of force behind it.

Taiyang: Yeah, yeah. Keep saying that Pipsqueak.

Fred: Why is it that everyone has to call my daughter that?

Taiyang: Because I can.

Taiyang and Amber laughed as she ran up to the door and opened it with her key. She went in and held the door open for Tai and her father to walk inside. However, neither Scorch would flip on the lights so Tai rolled his eyes and slowly walked over to a switch and flipped it. He turned around and standing his house was the whole family.

Qrow, Yang, Fred, Amber, Stark, Tealle, Ruby, Oscar, Summer, Crimson, Junior, the Scorch's dog, Jesse, Ember, May, Wolfgang, and Mocha. All there, all with smiles on their faces.

Everyone: Happy birthday!!!

Taiyang: (Chuckles) Wow. I'm SO surprised.

Qrow: Oh come on! (Wraps arm around Tai) Enjoy yourself you brute!

Qrow ushered Tai into the family room as Ruby and Yang ran up and hugged their father. Tai couldn't help but to laugh and hug right back as Fred walked into the kitchen to get some food and drinks together for his father-in-law. Inside the kitchen, Ember joined Fred as the two of them began to pour a few drinks.

Ember: Hey...just wanted to say thanks for inviting us.

Fred: Of course. After everything you guys went through in Menagerie, how could I say no. I just wished Sun and Blake could have been here.

Ember: Well, you know how things get with them sometimes. Especially since Bazaar apparently sanctioned a mission to raid Greene's private office.

Yang: Were we so different?

The two turn around and see Yang walking into the kitchen.

Yang: I mean, we did the same stuff too. Especially under Ironwood's command. So...maybe we were a little too hard on them.

Fred: Yang, are you-

Yang: They're not kids. They're adults. And whether we like it or not those kids are going to go out and do great things with or without us. Maybe it would have been best to give them a firm scolding but not discourage their behavior. I mean, it's what they want to do. We can't make them crossing guards or wall patrol forever.

Fred: I just...

Ember: Yang, you are aware that these guys were going up against-

Yang: And we went against worse. We just took it too far. Just some food for thought.

Yang walked over to the table and grabbed a tray of food and walked back out to the living room. Fred leaned against the counter as Ember looked at him, downing the soda in his hand before looking back at his brother.
