After the months and months of training and learning and everything else that the school is involved in had led up to this. Exam week. Exams at Signal were separated into two weeks. First week was all written work. This was for each class in particular such as math, english, biology and so forth and so on. Written exams were stressful, time consuming and all around a total bore to take and no reason for them to be taken in the first place. But everyone had to take them at some point.
However, week two was the more interesting and fun week of the exams. Week two began on that Sunday and lasted until Saturday with at least four to five classes taking their practicals on those days. And Amber's class was the first to start the practical this year. Her entire class had gathered at the massive arena used for the practicals. However, before them were her teachers and their principal, Amber's grandfather, Taiyang.
Fred: Good morning class. Hope you'll already for today. We've got a big day planned so let's get started.
Raleigh: I CANNOT WAIT!!! BRING ON THOSE ROBOTS!!!!
Yang: That's funny! (Students turn around to see Yang and Leia walking up to the group) That's not what we heard.
Fred: Very funny.
Leia: It's what we do. (Finger gun points) Bang!
Sapphire: Mrs. Arc-Burns? What are you doing here?
Amber: Same to you, Mom?
Yang: Well, they needed 10 fighters. So, here we are.
Amber: Wait? Ten fighters. So does that mean-
Iron: We're fighting the teachers?!
Taiyang: That is correct. Given the current state of the world, Dr. Scorch, myself and the other department heads deemed it best to change the practical to reflect the current times. So, you all will be fighting one of our esteemed teachers and guests!
Amazon: That seems kinda unfair!
Fred: Which is why you will be in partners. Don't get excited. Your teammates have already been chosen based on grades, combat prowess, semblances, relationships etc. We're treating this like how an actual huntsman academy run.
Kelly: Uh, Dr. Scorch. (Fred nods) Don't you think this a little intense? I mean, we're just kids.
Fred: This will be just a bit more intense than a third year at Beacon depending on the scenario. Look, I don't like this either. But with the times of today vs yesterday, actions need to be taken. And sometimes, these actions are rough.
Lagoon: How are we suppose to pass then?
Taiyang: Simple. There are gates at the end of the arena. You can run towards them to escape and pass or capture/knock out your opponent and win. Simple and straight to the point. Are you all ready?
Class: Yes, sir!
