Formal Training Begins

At the crack of dawn, the students of Class Scorch walked outside the main house. Some rub their eyes while most yawn and trudge outside the home. Before them are the instructors of the Summer Program: Fred, Yang, Burly, Sutekina, Team STNE and Pyrrha.

Vella: (Yawns) Why are we up so early?

Iron: JASPER!

Jasper awkwardly chuckles from behind him. Meanwhile, Burly slams his fists together and smiles at the students.

Burly: Alright, kids! Listen up! This program is essentially another semester worth of lessons. You will be training for hours on end, all in an effort to improve your skills here. We focus on semblance and physical prowess. Those who failed the practicals, please raise your hands.

Fuse and Ore groan as they raise their hands as do Raleigh and Iron.

Burly: You four will be having lessons with me tonight. Tomorrow will be Dr. Scorch and so on. The point is, you will leave here better then when you arrived. Now...did anyone lose to Mr. Okami?

Fuse: What's the point of that?!

Burly: You two, got it. (Burly slams his fists together and creates a larger shockwave, even breaking the ground) You two are rolling with me today. I would pair with Mrs. Scorch but unfortunately, she's handling physical augmentation semblance training today.

Jasper drools slightly at the statement.

Burly: Now then. These groups have been decided based off of weakness displayed during the practicals and on personal levels. Dr. Scorch will be teaching Amber Scorch and Aka Ketsueki. You three will be focusing on semblance development with pyrokensis. As already stated, Mrs. Scorch will be teaching augmentation semblances, semblances that has energy flow through the body and manifests itself into changing the body or discharging energy. That group being, Amethyst Kristal, Set Chaac, and Amazon Arcadia.

And so, the groups were decided. Burly personally taught Ore and Fuse as a little revenge to losing to his old teammate. Sutekina taught defensive capabilities, mainly for Lagoon, Akarui and Jasper. Pyrrha taught long range combat for Silver and Opal. Ebony taught gymnastics for Raleigh and Robin. Nick; tech stuff to Iron and Bruno. Tealle; survival tactics to Vella and Sapphire and Stark taught hand-to-hand combat to Kelly and Ciel.

On a field, Stark takes a punch from Kelly on his forearms. She goes in for another punch, but Stark grabs her wrist and kicks her. He goes in and goes for two more kicks, both landing. Kelly goes for another punch but Stark counters and knocks her to her feet.

Stark: You're good, but don't forget the feet. If you solely go in on punches, it gets predictable. Shake it up.

Kelly nodded as did Ciel. Kelly ran up and threw a punch and attempted to stop on Stark's foot. Stark back stepped and kneed Kelly in her stomach. Kelly spun around and threw three punches, the third one landing on Stark's face.

Kelly: I've seen all your mother's archive footage.

Kelly goes in for another combo but Stark quickly grabs her wrists and back flip kicks her in the face, lands and handsprings into her, knocking her onto the ground.

Stark: You saw my mother's archive footage...but you were never trained by my MOTHER.

Across the field, Yang has series of dust blasting into Amethyst's arms and chest. Amethyst's arms and chest are crystalized and take the blows. Amethyst reels back slightly at one hit but keeps going. Meanwhile, Set is charging the launcher with his semblance, discharging mass amounts of power into it. Yang smiles at the result and turns around to see Amazon slamming her fists into the mountain behind her. She was working to improve how much force her gauntlets could take and dish out.
