Years ago, a much younger looking Ember Ignis slashes through a Beowolf, cutting its head off. He rolled his eyes and shoulders, relaxing a little as he took over the area. An Ursa's scream went off as it was thrown through a tree. A younger, late 20's Fred jumps onto the Grimm and stomps onto its head. He cracks his neck and turns back to face Ember. Ember clicks his tongue and finger guns towards Fred. Fred chuckles a little and walks over to his brother.

Fred: That should be the entire pack.

Ember: Well, it's about damn time. Those jackholes were really everywhere this side of the island.

Fred: Yeah. You're telling me.

Fred and Ember looked back and saw an entire acre of land was burned to the ground, Grimm bodies evaporating. The ground is ripped up and it is clear that a massive battle had just taken place. Ember sighs again and stretches his back, twisting it slightly to better stretch himself and relax a little. Fred looks over at him and smiles a bit before he starts to walk off.

Fred: I still expect some payment.

Ember: The payment is living in my house.

Fred: Technically it's May house.

Ember: Technically it's March's house. At least until he...you know.

Fred: Hey. He'll be fine. Trust me.

Ember: I'm not sure man. I mean, you saw him. He looks like he could-

Fred: Ember. Stop thinking like that. Remember, you're the optimist here.

Ember: Right, right. Because where would you be without me?!

Fred: I...honestly. No idea. Probably not as happy I will say.

Fred smiled at Ember who smiled back as well. Ember slapped Fred on the back and laughed as his brother slightly chuckled and began to walk off. Ember was about to join him until his right fox ear twitched. He turned to his right and sniffed the air. Fred stopped himself and turned back to Ember slowly walking in the opposite direction.

Fred: Ember?

Ember: Hang on.

Ember began to slowly walk away from his brother, not giving much of an answer. Fred cocks an eyebrow until a cry went off. Ember and Fred turned to one another and took off running. The two ran a few feet of woods and found a basket sitting in the middle of a clearing. Fred and Ember glanced back to one another. Ember then slowly began to walk towards the basket but a slow step instead.

Fred: Ember? Ember!

Ember held up a hand to stop Fred as he slowly moved in. He went down to his knees and looked inside the basket. He slowly pulls back a blanket to show a Faunus baby, sitting in the basket, crying. Fred walked over and looked down at the basket.

Fred: A baby?

Ember picked up the small female and smiled at her.

Ember: Hey. How you doing kiddo?

The baby continued to cry until Ember slowly began to hug it to console it. Fred cocked an eyebrow as Ember tried to calm down the baby.

Fred: Let's get her back to your home. Try to figure out what happened to her?

Ember: Right. I'll call the girls.

Fred: I got it. You just keep trying to calm her down.

Ember: I mean, hey! You've been a dad longer than I!

Fred ignored Ember and made the call. Ember sighed and looked back at the baby. The baby reached out towards Ember's ears. He smiled as he raised her up and let the baby grab his ears.
