After the whole battle, we decided that we had enough training for the day, so all of us headed back inside. Lucas and I sat down on the sofa to rest while Opal lay down near my feet. Dylan went to the fridge and came back with two mugs of iced water for both of us.
"Dylan, did you really mean what you said back there, that we don't need training anymore?" asked Lucas while looking down at the floor with the mug still in his hand. Both Dylan and I looked at each other before fixing our eyes on our little cousin brother.
"It's true. I truly think you guys are ready," Dylan replied genuinely.
"Hey, don't worry about it. We have each other so you don't have to be afraid of fighting alone," I said truthfully.
Lucas then looked up and smiled cheekily at both Dylan and me.
"I guess you're right. I have no reason to be afraid," Lucas replied cheerfully which made us feel relieved. Just right after Lucas spoke, I had a flashback of my weird dream with the lady in it. I remembered her exact words and that made me think over and over again.
'Can I really trust them?' I asked myself.
All my life everyone has kept their secrets from me and in the end, I always forgave them no matter what. Sometimes I think it's unfair but there are times where I'm glad that it ended that way with no drama included. I know, I know. My mind's a mess but hey I just gotta deal with it, right?
"Zoe!" Lucas exclaimed, making me fall down back to reality.
"Yes?" "You okay? You were spacing out for a while,"Lucas replied.
I hesitated, but eventually, I made up my mind to tell my cousin brothers about the weird dream I had last night.
"To be honest, I'm not okay. I had a really weird dream last night and in the dream, there was an old lady."
"An old lady? Do you know her?" Dylan asked me.
"No, I don't but she did sound familiar," I replied.
"Well, how does she look like?" asked Lucas.
I then started describing the old lady in my dreams and right after I was done, I looked over at Dylan to see a shocked expression on his face.
"What is it? Do you recognize her?" I asked him.
"The old lady you were describing is Astra Liliana. Our grandma," he replied.
From what I remember the last I've ever seen my grandma was when I was 9 years old. My grandma was a strong woman and she was so full of spirit but at the same time, she was also caring and loving. She would always encourage me to never give up and to never stop trying. After she visited me and my mum 5 years ago, she told us that she was going to travel somewhere far away.
'I wonder where she is?' I asked myself in my head.
"But if it was grandma, why is she in Zoe's dream?" asked Lucas who was still very confused.
"She does that sometimes, especially when you're in need of help. I personally have seen her in my dreams before that's how I knew right away it was her in your dreams," explained Dylan.
"But even so, there was something different about her voice," I told them.
"I wish I knew but I really don't. She has never spoken to me in my dreams for a long time,"Dylan replied. After a while, we decided to let the topic slip. Instead, we made a decision to go hunting in the wilderness and I was really excited to see what lies deep inside the island. A few things were packed in each of our backpacks and we eventually headed out, holding a long spear in our hand. All three of us chatted a little while walking into the forest and even Opal would sometimes join in on our conversations.
