I packed all my things into my backpack before heading downstairs with Opal. I didn't even bother to change into new clothes after I woke up. My mind kept replaying the words of my grandma in my dream, over and over again. My brother was lost and he needs me. He needs us. So, that is why I'm gonna do whatever it takes to help my brother.......even if it kills me.
"Hey, you ready to go?" asked Dylan once I came down the stairs.
"Yes, I am. What about you and Lucas?"
"We're good to go," he replied with a smile.
"Come on, let's go!" exclaimed Lucas with a cheeky grin while carrying his backpack over his shoulder.
"Oh right, I have this for you," I said to Lucas before handing him the pair of shoes that I found at the beach, the day before. It was black in color and it had red and yellow fire patterns on it which made it look even cooler.
"Wow! Awesome!" he exclaimed, right after trying it on.
"Thanks, Zoe!"
"No problem" I replied with a genuine smile.
Before leaving, Dylan took some time to remember everything about the house for the last time, since we're probably never ever gonna come back here again. We left the house after double-checking if we had all our belongings with us. Then, we followed Dylan who eventually brought us to our ship which looked perfectly fine even after the event that had happened to us before reaching the island.
"Wait a minute. I thought it was supposed to be wrecked or something," said Lucas, referring to our ship which was in a perfect condition.
"It wasn't badly damaged, so I was able to fix it with some tools that I had found at the beach," said Dylan before helping us load our backpacks onto the ship. Lucas and Opal got onto the ship while Dylan and I helped push the ship off the shore.
"After 11 years of waiting, I can't believe I'm finally outta there," Dylan said after helping Lucas pull up the sails, while I steered with Opal at my side.
"So, where to next?" asked Lucas.
"Well, according to the map, our next stop would be Harmonious Cry Island," I replied after taking a good look at our next destination on the map.
"I wonder who we'll find there," Dylan spoke while looking out at the ocean and after that he was silent.
It was already nightfall but we were still far away from our destination. Even though I could feel my eyes getting heavier by the second, I decided not to say anything, giving the other two some time to rest.
"Hey, you wanna take turns steering?" asked Dylan, out of nowhere.
"You don't mind?"
"No, I don't and you need to rest anyway," he replied before telling me to go sleep in the room. Not being able to resist, I went to sleep straight away after laying down on some blankets beside Opal and Lucas who were already asleep. It felt nice to finally sleep without being disturbed by a monster, a storm or even a dream. My mind was peaceful and quiet that night. In the morning, I was woken up by the rays of sunlight shining through a hole in the door. I got up, walked out the door and saw both Lucas and Opal watching the waves slowly rise and fall. I walked towards Dylan who was steering and asked if we were getting close to our destination.
"We still have a long way to go but according to the map there is a small village around here, so we could get some supplies before heading to Harmonious Cry Island," he replied. I nodded my head in reply before heading to Lucas and Opal just to see what they were doing.
