It was the next day. I put on a black oversized hoodie and a pair of black leggings. I had already packed my bag the day before. The only things I was bringing were my clothes, my phone, a bottle of water, some food and bandages. I went down to the basement and found Angelo standing near the sub. Angelo suggested that we take the sub but once we reached a certain place we had to separate.
"You ready to go?" he asked.
"Yea, let's go"
"Zoe!" I heard someone call. I turned around to see Xavier running towards me.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"You didn't even say goodbye,"
"Why should I when I know I'm coming back?" I answered with a smirk. He smiled before giving me a hug.
"Stay safe, kiddo,"
"I will," and with that I was off.
It was silent in the sub but it wasn't awkward. Well, at least to me it wasn't. I was listening to some music so my head was somewhere else.
"Here," Angelo said.
I looked up from my phone and saw that he was handing me the small walkie talkie we used before.
"Oh, thanks," I said while taking it from him.
"If you're in trouble, don't hesitate to call for help. But knowing you, I think you'll be fine on your own," he said with a smirk.
"Well, you're not wrong," I replied and he chuckled.
Hours passed and I started getting more anxious by the second. I could feel my stomach turning, not literally but you get it.
"We're here," Angelo said, making me look up from the book I was reading.
"You'll have to go on your own from here....which reminds me," he then went to the very back of the ship.
I followed him not knowing where he was going. Once we were at the end of the sub, he stopped and looked at me.
"What is it?" I asked.
"To get to your destination, you're gonna need a ride," he stated before pressing a button.
Right then, a jet ski appeared from below.
"Damn,"
I looked back at Angelo and he just nodded with a smirk on his face, agreeing that that was the coolest thing EVER. I got on the jet ski but then I realized that I have no clue how to ride it.
"Don't worry. Vincent designed it so that it would be easy to use," he said before looking at the control panel.
"Just press this button to start the engine and this button to 'Go'. Obviously you have to steer yourself. Press the same button to stop moving and this button to off the engine," he explained while pointing at all the buttons.
"Got it?"
"Got it,".
Angelo then pulled a lever and the floor below the jet ski pushed upwards, bringing me up and above the water. Once I was out of the sub, I followed Angelo's instruction and just like that I was off. The jet ski was a little hard to control but I got used to it rather quickly. After an hour or two I could finally see land. When I reached the harbor, I parked the jet ski at on side and tied it to a pole. I looked around to see a lot of people walking here and there. Everyone was busy which was a good thing because that means no one will notice me. I walked away from the harbor and towards the village. Honestly, I had no idea where I was going. I was just walking around aimlessly. Somehow I ended up in front of a tavern. Before walking in, I put the hood of my hoodie over my head, not wanting to catch anyone's attention. I walked in and quietly made my way to a table at a dark corner where no one could see me. I took out my phone and shockingly enough, there was service. I was just about to call up Vincent when I heard someone say "Tribe of Terror". I looked up and saw two men sitting at a table few meters away from me.
"I heard they were planning something," said one of them.
"Yea, I heard that the only reason they're hiding in that mansion of theirs is because they're plotting something. Something dark," said the other.
"Whatever it is man, I know it's trouble," the guy said, ending the topic.
I walked out of the tavern with one thing on my mind. Where's the mansion?
Eventually, I found a store that was selling maps and stuff. I bought a map of the place with the little money I had left. On the map it says that the mansion is at the far end of the village and I could tell that it was gonna take hours if I walk. So, I transformed into my fox armor and I ran at full speed using my magic.
It took me an hour or so to reach the mansion. Anyway, once I was there, I saw four guards armed with weapons standing at the entrance. They all looked mean and.....I don't wanna say this but....hella ugly. Not kidding. The scars on the faces....Okay enough of that. I knew I couldn't just bust in there. I could knock out the four of them but I still didn't know how many more guards were inside and besides, the whole point of this mission is to slip in and out without getting caught. So, using my fox speed, I ran all the way to the back of the mansion. Surprisingly, no one was guarding the back, so that gave me an advantage. I climbed up the wall and landed on the roof. On the roof, there was a window and directly below the window, was a room. No one was in it but there were a lot of books, scrolls, maps and other stuffs. The thing was, there was no way I can get in there without breaking the glass and that would alert everyone that there was an intruder. So, I climbed down the walls and decided to use the back door instead. It was a very risky thing to do but then again I can't get caught.........you get the idea. I've said it too many times already. Using my dagger, I was able to break open the lock.
The first thing I saw when I slipped inside was a fridge. Yup....I was in the kitchen. I quietly made my way out of the kitchen and found a huge hall filled with people or should I say.....mages? There had to be at least a 100 of them. I turned to my left to see a huge stairway and I knew for a fact that the room I saw from the window was on the top floor. So, using my fox speed I ran up the stairway.
When I reached the top floor, I saw five doors. By remembering which side the window was, I made a guess that the room I was looking for was the one at the far end. I took out my dagger and broke the lock just like I did with the kitchen door. I went in and guess what?..................it was the right room. Scared you didn't I?
Anyways, I closed the door and leaned a huge chair on it. I, then, quickly went through every book and scroll I could find. At first, I couldn't find anything but then, I decided to search the desk that was in a corner. In the drawer, I found two maps. One was a map of every hideout of The Tribe Of Terror. The second was a little confusing at first but I managed to figure it out. It was a map showing where they were keeping Dylan. There were many scribbles and writings on the back. I was just about to read it when suddenly I heard something. It was the sound of footsteps. I could also hear people yelling orders.
'Oh shit!' I thought to myself, knowing that everyone in the building was now aware that there was an intruder. Me.
I knew there was no way in hell I can exit the same way I came in. There was only one way out. Yupp. The window. I threw two daggers at the window, shattering it. Then, I transformed into the eagle armor and flew outta there. Thank god the window was big enough for me to fly through. Once I was out, I flew straight to my jet ski, transformed back into my original outfit and took off from there. If the mages of the tribe ever saw me, it was too late for them to catch up to me. I took out my mini walkie talkie and pressed the button before speaking into it.
"Angelo! I got the info!" I said and after a while he answered.
"Alright. Me too. I've sent you a location. Meet me there,"
"Okayy,"
Once I was almost reaching the location he sent me earlier, I could make out the sub from a distance.
"What info did you manage to get?" he asked once I was inside the sub.
"I found out the location of the other hideouts and I also found out where they're hiding Dylan,"
"What?! Seriously?!"
"Yea, what did you get?"
"The whole evil shit they're planning,"
"I'm taking it that we succeeded in our missions?"
"If this isn't success I don't know what is,"
