Till The End

One more day to go.

We were all in the training room. We knew that we shouldn't tire ourselves too much but we didn't wanna sit around doing nothing all day either. Both anxiety and fear were the only things we could feel at that moment. Along with anger and frustration.

I was in a corner training with my Sagittarius transformation on. During this entire journey, I was able to unlocked 7 transformations. Leo, Aquarius, Sagittarius and Taurus which are part of the 12 zodiac signs and also Lupus(wolf), Vulpecula(fox) and Aquila(eagle) which are outside of the 12. It still kinda scares me sometimes when I think about how I've come. Before, I was just a little helpless girl, trying to live a "normal" life. Now, I'm saving the world from chaos. What a life, huh?

.

.

The time was 11.p.m. and I was wide awake. I laid on my bed not able to close my eyes even for a second. Even Opal couldn't sleep.

"Hey, you guys asleep?" Leona asked out of nowhere from her bed.

"Nope," both Daphne and I replied.

"Wanna get some snacks?" she asked.

"Let's go," I said, not wanting to lay in bed for another second.

.

When we reached the cafeteria, we weren't surprised when we saw the boys already there.

"You guys couldn't sleep either, huh?" Xavier asked and I nodded. I, then, took a seat beside my brother before taking a bite out of a sandwich that he made.

It was completely silent among all 8 of us. No one said a word. We were all just blankly staring into space. Until Lucas broke the silence.

"I'm scared," he said.

The rest of us turned our heads towards him but no one said a thing because deep down inside....we all felt the same way.

"We're all scared, Lucas but we just have to grit out teeth and get this shit over with. For the sake of the world. For the sake of Dylan," Angelo spoke.

"We can do this, guys! I know we can. Nothing has ever stopped us before and nothing will," this time Leona spoke, trying her very best to look confident and determined.

"She's right," I said before standing up from my seat.

"Our ancestors were never able to finish the job. They were strong and brave but in the end, they always chose to hide in the dark. But we're not like them. We're the descendants of The Hidden Mages and we'll be the first generation to come out of the dark and into the light. We're gonna defeat Eldor and put an end to this, if it's the last thing we'll do,"

"You know, you remind me of mom a lot," spoke Xavier after hearing my mini inspirational speech, making me smile a little.

"Alright! Out of the dark! Into the light!" Nico exclaimed before raising his fist.

"For once, I agree with you, Nico," said Vincent before raising his fist as well.

The rest of us followed.

"Out of the dark. Into the Light,"

.

.

The others headed up to their rooms while both Xavier and I stayed in the cafeteria. I needed to talk to him about our mother. I wanted him to know the truth about her.

"What's on your mind?" he asked.

"Mum,"

"We'll go home to her after all this. Don't worry," he replied, assuming that's what was on my mind.

"No, it's not that," I paused rethinking of what I want to say to him.

"Are you aware of what happened with mom in the past?" I asked, afraid to get straight to the point.

"You mean when she lost control of her powers and scared the living shit out of everyone? Yea, I know," he replied, catching me off guard.

"Wait. What?! You knew?? When? How?"

"Daphne told me. She said something about a book too but I didn't pay much attention to that part,"

"Okay...so.. if you know about what happened to mum, you do know that it can happen to me too, right?"

"Yea, I know that it's possible but I know it won't happen," he said.

"What makes you so sure?"

"Because you're not her,"

.

.

It was day time and I found myself standing atop a mountain. I could see the blue ocean overlooking the horizon. The sky was blue and the clouds were white and fluffy. I could feel the cool breeze brushing across my face. I breathed in the fresh air, taking in everything. Overall the view was beautiful.

"Zoe," a voice said which startled me.

I turned around and saw my grandmother wearing the same dress she always wore in my dreams.

"Grandma?" I heard someone else say.

I turned to my right and saw Lucas and on my left stood Leona, Daphne, Xavier, Nico, Vincent and Angelo. We were all here. Well, except for one.

"It's finally time for you kids to show your true powers," our grandma spoke.

"I just wanted to tell you kids how proud I am of every one of you. All 9 of you have accomplished things your ancestors couldn't. I also wanted to apologize," she continued then paused.

"Apologize? What for?" Daphne asked.

"I tried to fight during the absence of the Hidden Mages but I failed. My strength was not enough. I'm sorry that you kids have to go through all this. None of you deserve this," she explained.

"No, grandma. Don't apologize, please," Leona spoke.

"Yea, she's right. It's not your fault, grandma," said Xavier.

"It is our destiny to be part of the Hidden Mages. It wasn't our choice but it's fine," spoke Angelo.

"Yea, we've already accepted that part," Nico joined in.

"You kids have no idea how proud I am," she said with tears in her eyes. Before she could say anything else, all 8 of us walked over and gave her a big group hug. We were all tearing up. No matter how far our grandma was, she was always there for us. She helped us in so many ways and we couldn't be more grateful.

One thing I realized when we hugged her was that she felt warm. One of the many things my mum and grandma had in common was their warm hugs. It reminded me of all the times I would tell my mum about grandma's warm hugs. Remembering those moments made me cry even more.

"We love you grandma," I said to her while crying.

"I love you too. All 9 of you,"

"Now, listen here carefully. I want you kids to find and use your inner strength. It will help a lot, especially when you're on the battlefield," she told us.

"And one more thing I want you to remember,"

"You 9 are stronger together. Always remember that,"

"Grandma, will you be with us during the battle?" asked Vincent.

Even though grandma is old, she is still very strong. She's one of the strongest mages I've ever seen who is not part of the Hidden Mages.

"Of course, I will. I'll always be with you," she replied with a sweet smile.

"Till the end,"
