The crowd of high schoolers cheer loudly as Mr. Tanner starts speaking through the microphone, hyping up the football game that's about to start. I push past the crowd and my eyes lock onto Tyler and Jeremy fighting a few feet away.

Tyler tackles Jeremy toot he ground and starts throwing punches. My heart races as they both grunt loudly and I sprint over to Tyler. He sits on top of Jeremy, just throwing multiple punches at his face.

"Stop!" I shout loudly, grabbing onto Tyler's arm and pulling him off my brother. I glance down at Jeremy, my eyes filling with concern at the blood running down his lips. I reach out my hand to Jeremy and he quickly slaps it down, scrambling onto his feet.

I let out a loud scoff of annoyance and Jeremy marches off with clenched fists. I glare back at Tyler and grimace with disgust.

"Seriously?!" I retort harshly, ready to punch the lights out of Tyler. He's always been an asshole for as long as I can remember.

"He swung at me first!" Tyler raises his voice, smoke practically coming out of his ears. I roll my eyes with annoyance, and he furrows his dark eyebrows.

"God, you've got to be kidding me. You're not 12 anymore, stop acting like it. Hit my brother again and you'll wish I didn't come back into town!" I growl out, clenching my fists.

I turn around and start to walk off. "He's not even your real brother!" Tyler's words echo through my eardrums, and I dig my fingernails into my palms. I stop in my tracks and the anger pumps through my veins.

I let out a deep sigh and march off, heading towards the back of the school. I turn the corner and my heart drops at the sight of Mr. Tanner surrounded in a pool of blood. My lips tremble and his body stays there, not moving a single inch.

A loud scream escapes my mouth and I quickly back away, the tears filling my eyes. I spin around at the sound of the whoosh of wind and Stefan is there, a shocked expression on his face.

"What happened?" he questions me, looking over at Mr. Tanner. The hair tinges along the back of my neck and my limbs go numb with absolute fear.

"I just found him. I think he's dead, Stefan!" my voice trembles and he gulps loudly. My palms become sweaty, and he walks up to me, his eyes turning soft.

"Hey, Sam, it's okay. It's okay," Stefan reassures me with a soft voice and I nod my head, running my hands over my face.

"What do we do?" I ask, searching in his forest green eyes for answer. He ponders in his mind for a minute and then pulls out his cellphone, dialing the police.

My stomach churns at the sight of the crimson blood that seems to seep inside my mind. I blink and the color red pops up inside my mind. A tiny gasp escapes my mouth, and the colors drains from my face.

After a few minutes, a bunch of police have arrived with the rest of the Mystic Falls high students including Elena. She stands next to me and gently grabs onto my hand.

"You just found him there?" she asks, giving my hand a light squeeze. I nod my head and clench my jaw.

"There was so much blood, Elena. If Stefan wasn't there, I don't know what I would've done. You are lucky to have him," I comment with a shaky voice, and she frowns widely, signs of sadness slowly being painted all over her face.

"Everything's gonna be okay, Samantha," Elena reassures with a soft voice that calms my raging heart down.

"I hate high school football games," I mumble out, my eyes locked onto the body bag that Mr. Tanner is wrapped up in.
