"Shut up."

Elena and Stefan went to our family lake house for the weekend while I am stuck with Damon Salvatore at the house.

"What the hell is that?" I scoff out, gazing at the tiny dagger that Damon is fiddling around with.

"A little gift that John Gilbert gave to me to kill Elijah. A dagger and some white oak ash," Damon cocks his head to the side and my eyes widen.

"Wait, what? We can't kill him, he's keeping his deal with Elena," I point out and he lets out a tiny scoff full of annoyance.

"I've got a murder to plan and I can't have you in the way," Damon comments with a snarky tone and I cross my arms over my chest, huffing out.

"You are really stupid. Does Elena approve this plan?" I ask curiously and he knits his thick eyebrows together.

"No and she's not here to stop me. I'm just going to invite Jenna, Alaric, Andie, and Elijah to a casual little dinner," Damon announces and I let out a deep sigh, shaking my head with disbelief.

I hate to admit it, but the dinner so far has gone perfect. Andie's been asking Elijah questions all day, Jenna seems to be enjoying herself, and Alaric has been drinking a lot of wine, probably to keep himself calm.

Elijah and Alaric start to walk towards the study as Jenna and Andie head inside the kitchen.

 Damon's about to strike.

Suddenly my phone starts to ring loudly and I clear my throat. I answer the phone call, stepping outside and I bring my phone up to my ear.

"Hey, Stefan. What's up?" I ask curiously, tapping my foot on the ground.

"If Damon tries to use the dagger on Elijah, he will die. You need to stop him, now!" Stefan demands with a shaky voice, full of worry. I quickly hang up the phone and sprint inside the house.

My heart pounds as Damon swipes the dagger off the counter, starting to walk down the hallway where Elijah and Alaric are talking in the study. I rush over to him and grab onto his wrist, shoving him into the wall.

A few strands of his raven hair falls into his face, framing it and I gulp.

The dagger thuds on the ground loudly and his eyes widen. "What the hell are you doing?!" he growls out with anger and confusion.

"Shut up," I demand, clasping my hand over his mouth. I lean down and grab the dagger, tucking it into my jeans pocket. With my free hand, I grab onto his wrist and drag him down the hallway, pushing him into an empty room.

I find a piece of paper and dig out a pen, scribbling down on the paper. I hold up the paper to Damon and he clenches his jaw, his eyes flashing with rage. He snatches the paper from the hands and crumbles it up, throwing it at a wall.

Damon holds out his hand and glances at the dagger in my pocket. I step back and shake my head.

"No, we can't do it," I mumble out under my breath, and he raises his eyebrows. Suddenly a loud knock causes me to snap my head towards the sound and my heart skips a beat. Elijah's eyes meet mine and Damon clears his throat.

"Would you like to join us for a drink, Samantha?" Elijah questions kindly, holding out his hand. I put on a fake smile and nod my head, walking up to him and taking his hand.

I grab the dagger and shove the dagger into his heart rapidly. Elijah's jaw drops open and he lets out a loud yell full of agony. I gasp loudly and stumble back, ripping out the dagger. He collapses to the ground, the grey veins running up his face.

I run a hand over my brow and let out a deep breath, my chest pounding and my stomach churning. Alaric rushes inside with wide eyes and he lets out a half chuckle.

"I didn't know you had that in you," Alaric comments as Damon lifts up Elijah's body, throwing him over his shoulder with a quiet grunt. I glance at the dagger covered in crimson blood and I let out a shaky breath.

"Help me get him into the basement," Damon demands and Alaric nods his head, leaving the room with him.
