"You don't have to be snarky about it."

The thunder booms loudly and the sky flashes white for a millisecond. The rain comes down rapidly, smacking the roof of the Salvatore boarding house. I curl up into a tiny ball on the couch and I let out a shaky exhale.

Stefan steps into the living room with wide eyes and I clear my throat. "Sorry, I thought you went home," Stefan comments and I let out a tiny chuckle full of disbelief.

"Don't tell anyone, but I really hate storms. I was planning to, but no way am I driving in that," I scoff out, gazing outside the window into the dark storm.

"You know Damon made a deal with Pearl, Anna's mom. Elena's on her way here so we can talk about it," Stefan realizes and I quickly stand up from the couch, my eyes widening.

"Great, you running around telling everyone?" Damon chimes in, carrying a pile of wooden boards with a hammer.

I raise an eyebrow with interest and roll my eyes with amusement. "So, what did you do now?" Elena asks, swinging open the door as the thunder booms loudly.

"I say we go to Pearl's, bust down the door, and annihilate the idiot that attacked us last night," Damon suggests, hammering a wooden board against the window.

"Yeah, and then what? We turn to the rest of the vampires in the house and say oops sorry?" Stefan asks, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I can't believe you made a deal with her," Elena comments with annoyance.

"It was more like a helpful exchange of information. It's not like I had a choice she's...scary. Besides, she's gonna help me get Katherine back," Damon points out with a perky tone.

"Of course," I sigh out, running my hands over my face.

"You don't have to snarky about it," Damon retorts harshly, shooting me a firm glare.

"We'll figure out a way to deal with Pearl and the vampires," Stefan announces and I nod my head.

"Have you seen Stefan?" Damon asks me, walking into the living room and I shoot him a confused gaze.

"No, why?" I ask with concern, standing up from the couch. Elena's eyes slightly widen and she gulps.

"He went out in the woods and didn't come back. I figured he was with you," Damon explains as Elena dials Stefan's number and brings her phone up to her ear.

"It's going straight to voicemail. Where could he be?" Elena asks with worry.

"You're not going to like what I'm thinking," he comments with slight disappointment.

"Please don't tell me its where all the tomb vampires are," I sigh out and Damon lowers his head, pressing his pink lips together.

"I'll drive," Elena speaks up with a determined voice, making her way out of the house. Damon and I follow behind her, the rain coming down on us and soaking our clothes.

Elena comes to a stop in the middle of the woods, a creepy little house in the distance. Damon leaves the car and rushes over to the house.

"You think he's in danger?" Elena asks, squeezing the steering wheel tightly. I let out a deep sigh and the rain streams down the windows.

"Probably, those vampires are over 200 years old," I point out, shrugging my shoulders.

"You know, Mr. Saltzman, he wears a ring that lets him come back to life. Stefan told me that, what if he can help us?" Elena asks, snapping her head towards me.

My heart skips a beat as I ponder, chewing on my bottom lip. "Have Damon give him a call then," I suggest and she nods her head as I spot Damon running back towards us. I step out of the car and he grabs onto my shoulders.

"I can't get inside," he announces, rain streaming down his face.

"I have a plan for that. Alaric, he can get inside and help you get inside as well. I know you don't like him seeing as your the one who killed him, but I think we're gonna need him," I explain, the rain soaking my hair.

He inhales sharply and nods his head. "I'll call him, but you and Elena need to stay inside the car. I can't protect you," he demands with a harsh tone and I nod my head. I climb back inside and give Elena a reassuring nod.

Elena and I wait in the car for a few hours and she lets out a deep sigh. The darkness has taken over the sky and Elena nervously chews on her fingernails. I perk up my head and my eyes lock onto Stefan jogging over to us.

My phone cell starts to ring loudly and I pick up the call from Caroline. "I have some bad news," she announces with a weak voice and I lower my eyebrows with confusion.

"What's going on?" I ask with concern.

"I found Vicki's body in the woods," she gulps, before hanging up. My stomach twists into uneasy knots and I nod my head, turning towards my sister.

"Elena...they found Vicki's body," I mumble out and her jaw drops open.
