"Useful? I would call this dangerous, Mr. Salvatore."

Stefan and I walk through the deep, dark woods, the branches and leaves crunching underneath our heavy boots.

"Tell me why we're searching for a werewolf on a full moon," I mumble out, chills running down my spine and goosebumps forming along my arms. The younger brother lets out a shallow sigh and knits his dark, thick eyebrows together.

"While Alaric, Damon, and Elena are out on a college visit to find out more about Katherine, werewolves, and Isobel, we should be doing something useful," Stefan points out with a firm tone and I roll my eyes with annoyance.

"Useful? I would call this dangerous, Mr. Salvatore," I scoff out, my eyes darting around the unknown dangers that the woods hold. Stefan lets out a tiny chuckle and shakes his head.

"Elena would kill me if anything happened to you and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself either," Stefan announces and a smile tugs on my face. We start to climb up the large mountain and my boots dig deep into the dirt and mud.

As we reach the top, the full moon shines brightly and my jaw drops open. "Look at that," I let out a chuckle, trying to catch my breath. Stefan's eyes lock onto the moon and I step towards the edge when the ground starts to crumble beneath me.

"Wait, Sam!" Stefan calls out as I topple over, easily loosing my balance. A tiny gasp escapes my mouth as I roll down the mountain, squeezing my eyes shut. I bounce off the ground a few times before coming to a stop, my body aching.

"Samantha..." Stefan calls out, his forest green eyes filling with worry. I let out a tiny groan and opening my eyes and staring at the ground beneath me.

"I'm fine," I retort harshly, pushing my palms into the cold dirt.

I hear deep growling in front of me, feeling hot breath on my face and my heart skips a beat.

"Sam...don't move," he warns me with wide eyes and I slowly raise my head, meeting the glowing yellow eyes of the werewolf's in front of me. My eyes widen and the color drains from my face.

The werewolf bares its sharp teeth and my lips tremble with fear. Its large figure towers over me and I gulp, panting heavily. I dig my fingernails into the dirt of the ground and sweat trickles down my back. Suddenly Stefan picks me up from behind and he starts running through the woods, the trees disappearing behind us.

"Hang on tight," Stefan warns me and I wrap my arms around his neck tightly. The wind slaps against my skin and I squeeze my eyes shut. My stomach twists into uneasy knots, feeling Stefan leap off the ground and flying through the air.

I open my eyes as Stefan hides behind the tree, panting heavily and I unwrap my arms, my feet hitting the ground. My heart pounds against my chest and I gulp, glancing up at the full moon.

"Please tell me that was just a wolf," I mumble out, running my fingers through my hair and pushing it back.

"No, that was definitely a werewolf," Stefan assures me, bobbing his head rapidly and I let out a tiny scoff.

"You think it's Mason?" I ask curiously, poking my head out from behind the tree. Stefan opens his mouth to say something, but a branch snaps loudly. I snap my head towards the familiar figure of Tyler Lockwood walking over towards us.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Tyler asks with a clueless, but interested tone.

"What are you doing out here so late?" Stefan asks with a harsh tone and Tyler rolls his eyes with annoyance.

"I could ask you the same thing," he retorts harshly, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Just taking a walk, Tyler. It's nice out and I like a full moon. I've answered...now it's your turn," I speak up and he knits his eyebrows with confusion.

Tyler lets out a tiny sigh and lets his arms fall down to his side. "There was a party down at the lake, just taking a walk just like you," Tyler announces and I raise my eyebrow with interest.

"I suggest you tell the others to go home and get yourself home," Stefan demands, walking away from Tyler. I follow Stefan back to his car and climb inside, driving back to the Salvatore house.

Stefan and I step inside the house to find Damon and Elena sitting down on the couch together, a glass of bourbon in Damon's hand.

"Did you guys find anything?" Elena asks with concern and I glance back at Stefan who has his hands on his hips.

"Yeah, Mason Lockwood...not in human form," I mumble out and her eyes widen. Damon sets down his drink and stands up from the couch.

"I knew there was something up with him," he scoffs out and I lower my head, chewing on my bottom lip.

"What are we going to do?" Elena shrugs her shoulders and Stefan shoves his hands into his pockets, looking away from her.

"I'm going to kill him," Damon announces and I snap my head towards him, my jaw dropping open.
