Colors of the Wind
"The bitch got out."
I swing open the door to the Salvatore house, seeing my sister sitting on the couch and sipping on some bourbon. I furrow my eyebrows with confusion and walk up to her.
"You didn't tell me you were back in town," I scoff, and her eyes slightly widen.
Last night, I shoved the dagger inside of Elijah and I made the mistake of pulling it out. Luckily, he showed up at the lake house and Elena fixed my mistake. He's currently rotting in the basement for good, now.
"Sorry, I've been busy unpacking," she points out, setting down the glass. My heart pounds against my chest and I glance into her dark eyes.
Katherine.
"How the hell did you get of the tomb?" I ask through gritted teeth and Katherine lets out a tiny chuckle. My stomach twists into uneasy knots and I glare into her eyes.
"Ugh, you're no fun, Sam. After you so bravely killed Elijah, the compulsion wears off. I'm kind of surprised that you didn't know," she shrugs her shoulders, pouting her pink lips. I roll my eyes with annoyance and storm off down the hallway.
I peek my head into Damon's room, seeing him flipping through a book on his bed. He perks up his head and meets my eyes.
"The bitch got out," I announce, and he lets out a loud chuckle, filling the room. I knit my eyebrows together with confusion and walk inside, plopping down on the bed next to him, pouting.
"Yeah, I know. I woke up to her taking a shower in my room," he scoffs out, placing the book down on his chest.
"Why is she still here?" I ask, burying my head in his silky pillow.
"Sadly, we all have a common goal. We all want Klaus dead and she wants to help," Damon explains with a blank tone and I shake my head with denial.
"There is no way Katherine Pierce wants to help us. She's in this thing for herself. She's a selfish bitch," I grumble out, lifting up my head and meeting Damon's eyes.
Stefan steps inside the room with Elena, concern laced all over both of their faces. Damon narrows his eyes and his younger brother clears his throat.
"You know, Stefan, I really can't deal with anymore problems related to Katherine. Maybe you should go see a therapist," Damon suggests and I playfully punch him in his shoulder. Damon shoots me a glance and Stefan lets out a deep sigh.
"You might want to know that Alaric's wife just showed up on his girlfriend's doorstep," Stefan informs us and my heart drops into my gut.
"Great. Add it to the growing list of our problems," I groan out, running my hands over my face and Damon snaps his book closed.
"We've decided it might be best if you two stay here for the time being," Stefan explains, pulling out an old piece of paper. I leap up from the bed and my eyes scan over the paper.
"This is the deed to your house, though?" I chuckle out with confusion.
"Once we sign, we get to choose who to invite inside and who to not," Elena comments, her lips curling up into a tiny grin.
"I'll be super pissed if you lock me out," Damon speaks up with a sarcastic tone and Stefan holds out the pen to me. I gaze down at Elena's signature already on the paper and I grab onto the paper.
Damon and Stefan whoosh out of the house and I sign my name down. "Time to invite them in, I guess," Elena sighs out, leading the way to the front door. I swing open the door to find Damon and Stefan waiting outside.
Damon hangs his arm over the door frame and shoots me a grin. "You may both come inside," I greet them, and Damon lets out a sigh of relief, stepping inside.
"Glad we agree on something," Damon comments, his eyes piercing mine. I cock my head to the side and place my hands on my hips.
"You're so lucky that I like Stefan enough to put up with you," I tease him, and he rolls his eyes with amusement.
