Colors of the Wind
"If you're not afraid of Klaus, then you're an idiot."
I pace back and forth inside the Salvatore house, the clock ticking in the background. I fiddle around with hands and the door clicks open. I snap my head towards the door and Elena is the first one to walk inside.
I take off on my feet and throw my arms around Elena, letting out a sigh of relief. "I'm okay," she reassures me with a soft voice as she embraces me back. I glance behind her shoulder and see a mysterious woman standing beside Damon and Stefan.
"Who is that?" I ask, pulling away from my sister and pointing at the unfamiliar woman. She has short brown hair and livid eyes.
"This is Rose and she has a lot to tell us, isn't that right?" Damon asks, nudging her shoulder and she glares up at him.
We gather inside the living room and I take a seat on the couch next to Elena.
"Listen, I don't know what's really true or not, but Klaus, I know, is real," Rose states and I nod my head.
"Who is he?" Elena asks curiously, leaning forward.
"One of the Originals. He's a legend," Damon comments sneakily, crossing his arms over his chest.
"From the first generation of vampires," Stefan chimes in and I lower my head, pondering.
"Like Elijah?" Elena asks with confusion, knitting her thin eyebrows together.
"No, Elijah is the easter bunny compared to Klaus. He was a foot solider, Klaus is the real deal," Rose explains, placing her hands on her hips.
"Klaus is known to be the oldest," Stefan announces and I clench my jaw, glancing into Elena's eyes. Her eyes are full of fear and concern like I've never seen before.
"You're saying that the oldest vampire in history is coming after my sister?" I scoff out, shaking my head with denial.
"If what she's saying is true, then we're looking at a solid maybe," Damon shrugs his shoulder and I shoot him a glare.
"Look Elijah's dead, right? So no one else even knows that you exist," Stefan tries to comfort Elena, sitting down next to her.
"Not that you know of," Rose points out and Stefan lets out a deep sigh, sinking down into the couch.
"Look I've never met anyone who's laid eyes on him. I mean we're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction. I mean, we don't know what's real. For all we know he could just be some sort of stupid bedtime story," Stefan explains with a soft tone and Elena presses her lips together.
"He's real and he doesn't give up. If he wants something, he gets it. If you're not afraid of Klaus, then you're an idiot," Rose points out with a harsh tone and I inhale sharply, my chest pounding.
"Alright, we're shaking. You made your point," Damon scoffs out, rolling his blue eyes with annoyance.
"Do you know if the Originals have any link to Katherine? Other than he's been chasing her for over a century," I ask and Rose shakes her head.
"Not that I know," she mumbles out, shrugging her shoulders.
"Well, we should get to school. I'll see you later, Sam," Elena greets me goodbye, swinging the backpack over her shoulder. Elena and Stefan exit through the front door and Rose walks off into the kitchen.
Damon plops down on couch, bumping his arm into mine.
"So, what do you think of Klaus?" I sigh out and Damon furrows his eyebrows together, puckering his pink lips.
"He sounds like a fairytale," he comments with carefree tone and I bite on my bottom lip.
"A dangerous fairytale, Damon. He's after my sister because of her doppelganger blood and who knows how long it will take him to get to her. It could be days or maybe less than that," I mumble out, running my fingers through my hair.
"Oh, come on. You know I would never let anything happen to Elena and you. These Originals have nothing on the Salvatores," he shoots me a quick, confidence wink and I roll my eyes with amusement.
"I guess we're about to find out," I whisper, unsure in my mind if we can handle the Originals or not.
